I've only been once to a tenebrae mass, but was wondering if The Arlington Diocese or Archdiocese of Washington still has a tenebrae mass?

Oh yeah- they are still out there! You need to find a good Conservative Catholic church....call a few...it's the only way!

Tenebrae is not a Mass. Tenebrae is the "anticipation" of the Mattins (morning prayer) Office. Usually done at midnight on Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

Tenebrae is Latin for "shadows".

If they called it a "Tenebrae Mass" - that is a mistake.

But yes....my parish does Tenebrae every year.
