Actually, my brother lived with me for awhile when he moved from Florida to Georgia. He brought his cats with him. One of his cats got scared off by a dog one night and didn't come back. He moved back to Florida after about three months. It was probably a good two months after that that I was making dinner and looked on the deck and his cat was standing there staring at me! I brought her inside and brought her back down to him the next week. It does happen, and I pray for the safe return of your kitty.

Don't give up! One time I was living at a friends house and moving into my own apartment and I had a Himalayan cat that got out by accident. She was declawed and I was scared she would never make it or be able to defend herself. Well she was scared but luckily my friends husband kept telling me she was living under their shed. I really didn't believe him since I couldn't find her and about a month or so went by and one night he called me saying he had my cat. She was eating their cats food he left in the garage and one night he left their screen door open with a small trail of cat food. He figured if she wanted the food she'd have to follow the trail of it into the house, then he'd shut the door. It worked! I got my cat back. Good luck! I hope your kitty returns home soon!

Awww I hope you find your kitty!!!
When I was a little girl, I had two cats (Pete and Repete). One day Pete (or was it Repete?) ran off. We didn't see him for a LONG time... several months, at least. Then one day I heard a noise at the door. I looked, and there he was! I got so excited that I started screaming and jumping up and down. I scared him, apparently, and he ran away again.
I've heard of some other amazing return stories, as well. I hope yours turns out with a happy ending.

I have a cat (now 13) who disappeared for over a month. We had moved, and one day he was just gone. We looked and looked, but after such a long time we came to the conclusion that he had wasn't coming back. Then one day he was on the front porch meowing his brains out to let him in! I couldn't believe it . I think he had gone back to our old house, figured out we weren't coming back, so travelled all the way back to his new home. Cats are amazing.

A few years ago, my cat Missy got out of the house (we never figured out how). Days passed, we checked the lost and found in the newspaper, visited the animal shelter, nothing. Then, one evening about a month later, as my family and I were eating dinner, my mom glanced outside and saw Missy sitting on our backyard deck, wanting inside.

Yup.
Luke was found by some people by the lake about 5 weeks after he "wandered" off. Bugger liked the food he was getting from the summer people.
I hope you find your kitty.

I have a few friends who were silly enough to let their cats outside. One was found on the side of the road killed by a car, one was found ripped apart by another animal and one did come back on it's own beat up with half it's tail missing.
