One of my cats has been missing for three weeks now. I have put flyers on all the mailboxes in the neighborhood and have searched and called for him every day. We all miss him and haven't given up on him yet. He's a 'fraidy cat, and I think maybe he's hiding somewhere and may be injured.

A friend told me she looked for her kitty for three months before she found him!

You are right to be concerned. Don't worry. Cats want to have fun, just like me and you. He'll come back when enough is enough for him. Trust me. My cat once ran away and we didn't find him for a month! It may be because he feels neglected and locked out of the family. When he returns, give him lots of affection and don't forget to give him his favorite food. Don't think he'll never come back. Don't discourage yourself. Good luck!

Yes! My mom lived on a farm for a time and her kitty, who normally only went out of the house to follow her around the yard while she was gardening disappeared. After a few weeks my mom was sure she must be dead since she didn't think the cat knew how to hunt. After about 3 months a neighbor at the next farm told her that a strange chubby cat showed up and started eating with the rest of her barn cats. She didn't know who's cat it was so she fed it along with the barn cats. Mom's kitty just sat on the neighbor's porch for 3 months and ate and ate. Apparently she did know how to hunt... for a new food bowl :) She weighted 3 more pounds but was fine and very happy to see my mom.

I lost my cat for 2 months before he returned. I put flyers up all over the neighborhood. One day he just showed up at my door and I couldn't believe it. He looked well nourished so I assumed someone took him in and gave him a home for awhile. I was moving in less than a week so I'm glad he made his way back when he did.

I once had a cat that was gone for months. I gave up on looking for her and said that if she had not come home by then that she was probably dead. Well after about 4 or more months she just showed up on our front porch....I could not believe that it was her. So yes it does happen. I really hope you find him.

Springtime= Mating time. If you have a Tom Cat it could be out Catting around and could show up sooner or later. It could show up looking a little haggard from catting around.
