I agree. Now that the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan are under control, and we've resolved our equipment issues and our enlisted folks are fresh and ready, and we've paid off the hundreds of billions in debt we amassed, and we've repaired our diplomatic relationships that were trashed when we invaded Iraq - yes, now would be a good time to start a war with Iran because they have detained another country's people!
Plus, as an added bonus, a war with Iran would push up our sagging gas prices!
As a bonus, no doubt, just like the Iraq war victory would be assured in "weeks, not months" and the Iranian people themselves would regard us as liberators.
Plus, with a crackerjack team like Bush and Cheney, bubbling with confidence from their victory in Iraq, what could go wrong.
Plus, I'm sure our children and grandchildren have no objections to paying off the cost of the war during their entire lives.
So, LET"S GO!

Um, that is Britains problem currently...although I agree to support them. I think you grossly overestimate the power of our military at this point. They are tired, fighting an unending war...meanwhile, Afghanistan (which WAS the whole point) is getting out of control, because we can't manage both wars at the same time. Now you want to add a third one, that actually has a very well established army, and a thirst for our blood? How about you lead...

The first aggressive move (BritisH OR U.S.) against Iran will sign the death warrants on those people. I guess you've forgotten November, 1979. Or were you even ALIVE then?
The FANATICAL MUSLIMS MURDERERS are just ITCHING to murder some more! I'd be surprised if FANATICAL MUSLIM MURDERERS in Iran don't behead those Brits.
THEN they should be wiped off the face of the earth.
Just my opinion. I haven't forgotten the Pueblo and those inbred N. Koreans.

Because it is madness anymore! Sure this is the British problem, but they are an ally fighting in an American war are they not? But we have no real leaders anymore that have backbones and are willing to fight back when trampled on by the enemy. Nothing has been done yet at all since these British soldiers been captured except for the usual crap spewed out if a disaster happens. All talk they are!! God, even the British Navy can wipe out all of Iran's Navy in a matter of hours. But no, these soldiers are only going to die by the "trial" Iran is going to put them through. It is obvious Tony Blair is bending over for Iran now and not doing anything about it. How many days gone by since this has happened and what has been done about it? Nothing at all! It's insane anymore, and it doesn't help when we sit back and watch it happen and do nothing about it! And I am tired of all these excuses for Iran, it is time we used our Air Force and blow up their Navy, blow up their military bases, and take out that little scumbag Ahmadinejad! But no, he only wants nuclear power for "peaceful reasons" and to have nuclear plants for "resources" and not to use for violence. If anyone actually listens to what that little madman says in his own country about America and Israel they would see he is wanting to obtain a nuclear warhead not nuclear resources. But no, let's all pretend we live in a world where no one wants to nuke another country because they are a misunderstood individual who wants the same as everyone else. Let us not face up to reality and just keep to ourselves and when something happens we can not blame ourselves for not allowing proper action being taken we can blame the President and leaders. For those British soldiers, I am afraid to say, but I believe their country has left them for the Iranians to do as they want with them. We have lost all of our real leaders, generals, and politicians and have been left with people who are out of touch with reality, who doesn't want to actually say the name of our enemies Islamic Fascists, because it would be "insensitive" to do so. It will only get worse as time goes on if we do not step up and start killing the enemy before they kill us. And not doing anything about the captured British soldiers is only showing to the Islamic Fascists that they can do whatever they want and get away with it and pay no consequences.

Speaking as a British Serviceman,I would'nt want the US to act unless we have exhausted all diplomatic options & an agressive act is needed but only if we ask them to.
Besides, the SAS & SBS are probably already in Iran just in case.(Just like they were during the Falklands & the Gulf)

I'm with the people who say this is the Brit's job. Of course the US should be available to help, but if we take the lead and things go wrong, that won't look good in Britain's eyes.

For openers, it's not OUR problem - it's Britain's. Let THEM handle it. We have enough to worry about.
Besides, Tony Blair has asked the US government to keep silent and not say anything about this issue because it wants world attention to remain focused on the fact that this incident involves BRITISH servicemen and women, and not AMERICAN ones. A good point, which I agree with.
As for that video...be patient, the truth will come out when they're all released.

It's not our (US) issue to deal with. The Brits must sort this out. And I don't think we should escalate now. The Brits should have told the Iranians to go "f" themselves and left.
