None whatsoever...but ignorant Christians r involved in it. They take oaths and vows....it is very elitest and pride based and secretive. Steer clear.....it is a wolf in sheeps clothing. When u get involved u give Satan footholds in ur life which will need deliverance for once u r not involved anymore.
blessings to u,
Daniel

Freemasonry is a fraternal group dedicated to making good men better. You can do a web search and find many sites both for and against. Mostly if you read the "against" sites you'll come away thinking that they are a cult with strange religious beliefs - this is a very skewed impression built on rumors and taking quotes out of context. There are several major objections one of which is that you can't talk about religion in lodge - Masonry allows all religions (it's mostly made up of Protestants and Jews with some Wiccans and others in America) but as part of it's tenants is peace and harmony in the lodge, discussion on controversial topics is prohibited. Many fundamentalist think that this is bad as you can't witness in lodge.
Good luck with your search for information and remember there are always at least two sides to everything.

Freemasons are a fraternity and charitable organization. They are not really associated with christianity although in christian countries most freemasons would be christians. They are theistic, requiring a belief in god but they do not specify which one. Many of their traditions hearken back to the ancient Israel and Egypt so they might seem more tied to the bible than to, say, the vedas.
Masonic history has as many myths associated with it as the bible does. The true history of the order dates back no further than the Enlightenment although claims could be made that it originated during the Rennaisance and Reformation. It was, at that time, a primarily protestant christian order with some jews. During this earlier stage popes declared that it was a sin to become a mason. Because of the universal nature of the mason's understanding of god, many Freethinkers and Deists also associated with masonic lodges. The list of masons includes many powerful people and this has spawned conspiracy theories. Since I can't become a mason (being an Atheist), I can't tell you whether or not they really run the world.

In a way... in the past Catholics and Masons have agreed to kill each other if given the chance. That movie about national treasure had it all turned around so Masonry would be more accepted. Now, all that has been forgotten and the guy who chooses our Priests is a, you guessed it, Mason.

No. Masons do not have a religious requirement - only that a man believe in God. Jews, Muslims, Hindu, whatever - can all be members.
Masonic ritual is more rooted in the Old Testament - but it is all legendary - taking the character of Hiram Abiff and developing a history around him that is pure speculation.

"Freemasonry is the oldest and largest world wide fraternity dedicated to the Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of a Supreme Being. Although of a religious nature, Freemasonry is not a religion. It urges its members, however, to be faithful and devoted to their own religious beliefs.
Their official website tells you all about it
