In the movie Good Will Hunting, Will ends his relationship with Skyler when she asks him to go to California with her. She pushes on demanding he tell her that he "doesn't" love her. He complies and Skyler is left devastated. At the end, we see Will get in his car and leave for California to try and rekindle their relationship. My boyfriend contends that the relationship is irreparable and nothing Will could ever do would heal the damage. I believe it would take work and that the relationship was certainly damaged but they could eventually work things out if they wanted to. If you were in the same situation, would you take the boy/girlfriend back?

Taz, I didn't say he ended it because she was leaving, I simply send he ended it. We all know why he said what he did because of his breakthrough session with Sean. And.. I agree with you, Skyler knew why he said what he did and I feel she would welcome the opportunity to work it out because of her love for him. It is my boyfriend who feels she would never be able to open her heart to him again.

You have it wrong. Will doesn't dump Skylar because she is leaving, it's because he is scared to let someone in. He is scared that she doesn't truly love him. He says he doesn't love her so she will leave and he won't be hurt. That's why he calls her before she leaves. He is able to go after her because of his last therapy session where he lets his walls down and accepts the fact that all the bad stuff that happened to him isn't his fault. He didn't intentionally hurt her so yes she would take him back. They are two adults and would work things out. He didn't cheat, wasn't abusive, just scared. If that were a real situation they could work it out if they were both open and honest.

nicely, at first that's painful. you cry each and every night and thinking what went incorrect. this is truly confusing, particularly whilst human beings stored on asking you what got here approximately. the discomfort purely drains you out. once you're nevertheless hurting, the terrific suggestion that i can provide you is which you progression on. that's the only element you're able to do desirable now. this is confusing yet that's the terrific thank you to pass. yet you do not sense like shifting on or letting pass of the sentiments you have, then, ask your self this question: is it nicely worth it? is this individual nicely well worth the discomfort?

I think love can survive a lot of things but that rejection is in a class by itself. You can't reject your loved one OR lie to them without it doing permanent damage. I think it was both a lie and a rejection for him to tell her that he didn't love her.

mmmmmmmmmwah! to YOU, CWB *smiles *
