I used this site for my invitations, RSVP cards, thank you cards, and program paper. It has very reasonably priced items. You print the wording you want onto the invitations using your home printer. Hope this helps.

You should visit this site: http://www.wedding.orders.com
They have an online catalog of 14 different wedding invitation companies to search from. They have a lot of invitations that are $50 or less for 100 invites. You can select any style and just use wording for an engagement party. When you consider the cost of paper and ink cartridges to print invitations yourself, you can easily purchase some nice ones for around the same amount of money.

Try www.vistaprint.com. I had Christmas cards printed there last year, and they were the best price I've seen. They also do all kinds of invitations. You can customize them on-line, and I found the paper quality to be great (you can choose what kind of paper you want). They were also very fast. Good luck!

I got 50 invitations w/envelope, 50 RSVP cards with envelopes in a pack for 12.99 from Michaels ~ the only draw back was I had to print them myself but that only took an hour tops.
Check them out

Best Buy Imprints offer low cost engagement invitations. Production is quick too. You can even preview your invitation online with your custom wording. It's cool.
Good Luck :)

If you want to be creative and save money, make them yourself in MS Word or powerpoint then have your local kinkcos print them out on card stock. You can get at least 6 invites on one page. I did that for my RSVP cards for the wedding and no one knew the difference.

I found this invite on a website someone mentioned: http://www.annsbridalbargains.com/WE_ViewEns.cfm?prev=1&TempPrev=0&blnPreviewRequestSubmitted=0&recordsperpage=8&CompletedOrder=0&sBasketID=0&sItemCode=WedEns4615&FromHome=1&alogo=1&menu=none&morethanonepage=YES&HostDomain=0&FirstTimeThrough=1&option=WE_ViewEns.cfm&format=WedEnsVA&CFID=1051787&CFTOKEN=25617236
The total for 125 invitations would come to $109.

Have you considered making your own? It could end up being more cost effective and you can design them to look the way you want.
If you want to print them yourself - you might check places like Walmart that sell blank invitations - you can type them up yourself and then mail them out (they have the envelopes with them)
