I have long long thick bronze/blonde hair that used to be very silky, smooth and shiny, not too dry, and not greasy. Recently, i started using a flat-iron to straighten it once in a while, and now it is dry and gets frizzy and kinky. its not curly, and it was never stick straight, it used to be more like the girls hair in the brady bunch or the partridge family, except thicker. now it gets wavy and frizzy and dry, but when i use a lot of conditioner, it gets greasy. What can i do to repair the damage? And what can i put in my hair when i straighten it so it doesnt get damaged further? Any recommendations for a good conditioner as well?

You should ABSOLUTELY be using something between the flat iron and your hair, I'm not surprised your hair is suffering...for now, lay off the flat iron. I use a shining serum when I flat iron...they even make sprays and serums specifically for flat ironing your hair...you should totally something.
I would try Bumble and Bumble shampoo in creme de coco and the same for conditioner until your hair gets healthier...

I have the same problem....what i do is wash my hair every other day and use conditioner.... i leave it on for two minutes and then I rinse out with cold water....I towel dry then I put anti frizz stuff from tresemme...works great then I brush it out with a round bristle brush then use a detangling comb...I put redken straightening balm on and then I blow dry using the round brush so it is straight and I use a flat iron with ceramic plates and I do small section by small section...it takes forever but the result i get is amazing...then I spray anti frizz detangling spray on it and off i go...try it ...it might work for you everybody is different

Use a good conditioner designed for heat treated hair. Better yet, don't use the heat.
