Nothing personal against Faye, but don't you think this is an abject lesson in why females should not be in front line service

I Didn't suggest that her being female contributed to her capture.
However, why was it only the female who made the statement, whay was the female wearing a rag on her head
Why was it only the female who wrote the letter
Why was it only the female who stated they had strayed into iranian waters
Could it be that she was promised an early reunion with her family for her childs birthday.
Was she just frightened
i assume they were all frightened but only the female cracked.

I kind of see what you're saying...and no doubt this would make me (and you) to some appear to be the male chauvinist which should be railed against...but

Since the Forces Personnel have been taken into "custody" by the Iranian forces there seems to be a PR (because I'm at a loss how else to describe it) campaigh about the awful tragedy it is for a British woman to be held by agressive foreign/alien forces. Oh...and there where a dozen plus blokes held as well.

The papers....full of text about how terrible it is for her young daughter Molly to be separated from her loving (not disputed) mother....and how she misses her. Which is mirrored in communication from Faye via Iran.

Not knowing anything about the 'duty' she was on, I can only guess.....but...maybe likely that she'd still (without the 'incident') be in the Middle East...still not in the UK....still not with her daughter for a number of weeks/months.

Well..err...hang on a sec...there's a few other British Forces personnel held over there......oh yes....ah..there mentioned at the bottom of column 5.

Didn't the wise font of knowledge when it comes to rights....yep Cherie Blair/Booth comment in 2005 that women are treated like second class citizen's in Muslim states (I'm sure we can count Iran as a Muslim state). So...men are supposedly the 'first class' of these 'states' and hence, I would assume, get preferential treatment.

Well..I'm expecting to see reports of the 'first class' lads packed off home soon...errr.....
not according to the press....any idea who could be abck soonest??

This proves that not only should females not be on the front line but that to put them into an area run by the rag-head members of Islam is pure folly.

I heard the report and supposed interview with her on the radio and she was obviously reading from a prepared script.

Of course the Iranians have used her, for a start as a woman she will have been separated from the rest of the squad from the beginning and pressured by these anti-European Republican guards into the state she is in now. I have one question for the idiots in Iran who forced this interview, How do they think that a Leading Seaman knew the exact position of the arrest? Unlike the Yankee films where it is the ordinary seaman/soldier who knows what is going on that does not happen the real world.

So she may come back soon, I wonder when she will tell the truth about her treatment, bet she is released and told by the Rag-heads to continue to state that she has been well treated or all will not go well for the rest of the kidnapped squad.

i've got not seen any of the click or different media money owed of the Iran fiasco. besides the undeniable fact that i will particularly have self belief that the Iranians placed psychological rigidity on each and all the kidnap sufferers. I stated that all of them finally gave a similar account at the same time as in Iran, this leads me to think of that the Iranians had mentioned to all of them the two you all make statements we offer you or none of you will circulate away and could be tried for spying. So what do you do, as others have mentioned better to stay and combat yet another day, besides the undeniable fact that i might have an interest to make certain how lots of the captives circulate away the army. The Iranians are no longer occasion to the Geneva convention, and particular think of that it particularly is for softy Westerners, so with the undeniable fact that they have been all held in solitary confinement without communique ability that the Iranian lies could be impossible for the persons to verify. My sympathies are with the 15 and that i'm hoping that Teflon Tony's government will provide them and each and all the households of provider workers in Iraq finished help what ever takes place, yet i'm no longer protecting my breath, as they are no longer battling a classic enemy and that's by using Bush/Blair unlawful conflict.

No. This is an abject lesson of some commanders that let their people be captured. This is a lesson that one should not allow political sensitivities interfere with military operations (once they have started of course.) This Sailor was just caught up in some unfortunate mess, something that the should have been avoided.

Why do you think that her being female contributed to her capture? What does her gender have to do with this?

Your question is an abject lesson in why morons shouldn't be allowed near computers.

Sorry, Stephen - is that an implied threat of violence? From behind your computer? Pot calling kettle, methinks.

This wasn't exactly the front lines. Iran just over stepped their boundaries.
