How do I know I'm not?

Actually this varies from person to person. Someone who is well connected with people they trust will check out their thoughts to see if they mesh with the reality perceived by the other people.
The problem arises with this method, however, if there is a mass delusion, such as was described in "The Emperor's New Clothes." Everyone in a society can join together in a mass delusion, e.g., the presence of witches in Salem, Massachusetts.
This is the problem to one degree or another in every country, in that some ideas are held by so many people, in spite of evidence to the contrary, it becomes almost impossible to correct the delusional thinking. Examples in the USA include "manifest destiny," and our consistently high level of religious belief.

The question is the respond. in the event that they knew that they have been delusional, they could quit being delusional. they don't understand because of the fact they are too concentrated on regardless of that's that made them delusional.

I thought I was delusional one day but then I realized it was just my imagination, I think.
