Depends on the state law, in where you live. Some of the basics are, space, fenced yard?, stairs, railing on stairs?, CPR classes are required, are you accepting child care assistance?, or applying for the state food assistance program?, Garbage can covers, outlet covers on all the plug ins, locks on all the kitchen cabnets, safety gates where needed if you have infants attending. They do get pretty picky on things. But if your looking to make money AND enjoy children, its a great option!!

for a home day care, one must be approved. Check with your area family services for that info. First Aid/ CPR, often level 1 child care, alloted only a spefic number of children in a specified age range, training and experience.

Depends on your state. In my state if you have 3 or more unrelated children you have to be licensed. I keep 2 children and I am not licensed. I simply put an add in the paper and they called me from that.

Call your local welfare office and have them direct you to their child care type B social worker. I just finished their classes & have all my stuff ready to open. Finally!
