I agree with you - texting is rather cold. If you want to talk and he doesn't want to, I'd suggest you reconsider.
If you ask him, why does he say he'd rather text you? Maybe he has a reason (nosy roommates or something).
He should want to be with you in person. If texting (and calling for that matter) take the place of dinners and movies for no real reason, maybe he's not the guy for you.

No it's definitely not a bad sign. It could be that texting is just more convenient to him. I text my boyfriend ALL the time. We rarely talk during the day because he works and so do I. That's our way of communicating with each other. If it really bothers you then talk to him about it. And if either of you have something important to say, you guys shouldn't hesitate to pick up the phone and call instead. I wouldn't stress over texting though. It's not that it's impersonal either. You can send little texts to each other through out the day just to let the other person know that you're thinking of them.

i feel it depends on both parties. me and the guy i was dating text eachother because we were not big phone persons. im very quiet and dont talk at all on the phone but when im emailing or texting i open up alot. but we did call every once in a while also (but texting was preferred) plus i found texting more exciting. but to each its own and if he knows u dont like it then he should go bk to calling u. if he doesnt then i would think that u do have a problem here. did u tell him u dont like texting and want to hear his voice?

Personal preference. I do get frustrated when my gf texts me if she's at home and tries to carry on a short conversation through text (why not just call?) but she doesn't actually call as much as I'd like just like she actually calls more often than she may like, so there is a compromise there.

I love texting. Especially when Im at work and cant really talk, I just message my friends or someone I care about instead of calling.
Dont take it too personally.

Not necessarily. Sometimes guys feel like getting into a conversation would be taking away from things they needed to do during the day. Sometimes when I get on the phone with my gf, we talk for too long about nothing really and I end up missing out on things I wanted to get done. Texting is an easy way to talk with them and still do things. Don't worry about it.

Although texting is less personal, maybe it a time of the day thing, maybe he doesn't have as many day time minutes or is unable to use day time minutes as much as before thus his alternative method is to text as opposed to not being able to talk with you at all.

maximum human beings will say impersonal yet i imagine its extra personal surely, shows you've self belief someone your talking because they could teach all of us what you've stated to them compared to a telephone communique, plus its extra obtainable to textual content someone at the same time as your slightly shy like me (so idk per chance thats why i believe like this)... also in the adventure that your busy or cant talk aloud like you say its proper, only dont anticipate someone needs to reply immediatly as in case you've been talking over the phone to questions, that's a msg and they do could envision it and blunders can take position the position that is rarely despatched or received... ideal wager to save a texting relationship on secret is to have an expertise to inform the guy you'll textual content them back later in the adventure that your busy

the answer would be based on the plan he has. For some people textin is cheaper than calling unless you have free mobile to mobile, or night minutes, some people don't. So do take it as an insult.
