I'm so confused right now I don't know how to feel. He and I were together for 5 years from the time we were in high school up till about three years ago. I am with someone new now, but your first love is something sacred. Should I be upset with her? Or is this just possesiveness taking over?

I'd be pissed. I think that your first love should be totally off limits to your friends. Especially if she was there through the relationship. I would definatly have a talk with her, and tell her how you feel.

This is a very complicated question. It is my opinion, that with women my friends have been involved with, that they are pretty well off limits for good, especially if there was real love involved. However you have to some degree or another moved on. Even years later there can be a lot of unresolved emotional ties and scars. What you have to do is sit down and be truly honest with yourself, even if that is scary or earth shattering, and ask yourself, "Do I still love him?". No one here can tell you how to feel or how you feel. That is up to you to decide on your own through candid self honesty. If after a good deal of reflection you think that your friend is doing something wrong, get it off your chest, tell her. It is far better to be honest now then to keep it inside and let it stew for months or years. Just saying it aloud can be very therapeutic. Your friendship can still be saved. It is perfectly normal to be upset by things like this, you just have to remember not to become bitter because of it.

I feel it is just possessiveness taking over you, your always going to feel something when you see the two of them together. But just because it didn't work out between you and your first love doesn't mean it couldn't work for between them. Just think years down the road when you look back all of this you just remember you made the right choice of keeping quite and keeping them as friends, just as any true friend would. Hope this helps you out on determine which way you should feel about your situation.

Even though you like this guy, you have to think of how good o a friend Lindsey is to you. And do you REALLY love him back ? My advice is keep the friend. There is a reason that Zach is your ex isnt there ? Exactly and there is a reason Lindsey is your best friend. Stay with your best friend. It usually is sisters before misters but if you really love him (which i highly doubt because you sound young) then love comes first. But my advice to you is become friends with Lindsey, forget the guy because there are other fish in the sea.

If she was your best friend she wouldnt have ended up with him. Its just wrong completely and shows she has no respect for you. Saying something about it is a waste of time and you should just cut the friendship loose. Its just a hands off situation especially if she is considered a best friend, more like a tramp

I truly believe that ur first love is sacred and as your BEST friend she should know that. She obviously has no respect for you in that way and you guys need to have a chat.

Be ever so happy that both your first love and your best friend found someone you know will make them happy. I wish I knew who my first love ended up with and if he was happy with her. I know my best friend was happy with her husband.
Don't be upset. Be happy for your two friends

your feelings for your first love never fade away and that's why you want to feel upset. I would be upset to if it was one of my friends. maybe you still want to be with him. find a way to break it off if you don't want to be with him anymore.

Well..you both chose to move on (for whatever reason i dont know); but you have someone and he has someone now. You shouldnt really be mad at your friend,it might hurt but you have to move on.
