Someone asked a really funny question saying like 'wouldn't you feel bad if you died and blah blah that you wasted your life'
What is it we are missing out on?
Sex, drugs, alcohol(for some). I really don't see how an unchristian is living a fuller life? They are just living it differently, are they not?
If you disagree, tell me what I am missing out on.

I am not drawing conclusions all I am asking is what we are missing out on? I never said that is all everyone else is doing but my point was besides those things, what else is there that you feel we cannot be apart of. I wasn't trying to attack anyone. Why is everyone so defensive?

I see people saying 'you waste you time doing this' But that was not my question, I said what are we missing out on? On Sundays I could sit at home a watch tv? That seems pretty boring lol.
Also, i think for myself. And how would taking the credit for all of the good in my life make me any better a person?

So I'm not happy?
There was even research that showed Christians are the most charitable of groups, to the person who say we could be helping the poor.
I go to church about 4 or 5 hours a week out of 168.
I read books and have friends outside of my religion.

holding myself accountable for the mistakes I've made is nothing I will ever feel is missing out.

Christians are missing out on two things, from my point of view:
1) The freedom from guilt over "sinning" and
2) The ability to take complete control and personal responsibility for their lives.
Because you put everything in your God's hands, that leaves nothing for you to have control over. Your life, in essence, is not your own. And, because you view things as specific sins (like drugs, which I've never done, alcohol, which I rarely consume, and sex, which I enjoy tremendously with my significant other) rather that poor choices, you don't really leave yourself much room to learn from your mistakes. Many Christians who sin simply confess their sins to God, ask for forgiveness, and never probe deeper into why they made those mistakes, outside of "Satan tempted me". If you never think about why you do things but ascribe them to some phantom being, then you can't learn from your experiences or grow as a person.
Of course, I would never tell a Christian they were missing out on life, no matter how many times I'm told I'm going to hell for being Wiccan, because that would be rude.

I personally don't think you are missing out on things necessarily. Except for a clear understanding of the world around you.
If you go to church every Sundays That's like 1/7th of your life doing nothing.
You could be giving money to the church, and that's like throwing money away.
If you are very religious and don't date or socialize outside of your religion group you might be missing out on some great people you could meet.
If you are rigid in your belief, you might actually cause fear in you children who only follow your religion because they don't want to burn in hell. Not that its the only reason a small child would believe, but imagine the pressure you are putting on them.
There are tons of other things you might miss out on, but its not a certainty.
Its the possibilities of what you could be doing that you are missing out on.
Side note : I don't do drugs, never had sex, and never drank alcohol, and I am an atheist, so those are not things you and I would have differently.

The only thing I can see that 'Christians' are missing out on is....life. They are still under a covenant that says if you do this, then I will do that. When if you read what covenant brings life, then you will see that that covenant has nothing to do with us, and has only to do with our Father. The old covenant requires some act on our part in which we all fail, the new covenant is only a promise that he who cannot lie promised eternal life. So if you are doing something to gain eternal life, then you are still dead, but if you know you are alive by the promise of God alone, then you have now begun to live.

You have to follow rules written in the bronze age that have little bearing on life today. I don't see drugs as a big deal, but you are way too uptight about sex.
You waste time praying
You waste time in church. Sunday's are wonderful to have fun with your family.
You waste money on helping build the church and support its activities.
You waste effort trying to convince others to follow your faerie tale.
I am sure I can think of more. But basically every min. you spend on anything church related is a waste.

i could think of of it this variety and no disrespect meant, in case you have been a real christian you have had much extra magnificent memories than you do now. yet that's purely wager artwork right here. How do you recognize in case you overlooked out or not, you stopped following the course, who is conscious what riches have been on that course for you to find. We each and each have our own course to take and that i think of the only that ends with the lord is a robust one. This life is a short one and the flaws of which you communicate bring about a heart beat, yet as quickly as with the lord that's often, so do you permit out out because of the fact of religion, i don't think of so.

Apparently, Christians aren't missing out on anything: there are Christians who are druggies, alcoholics and sex addicts: Christians who are murderers, hedonists, pedophiles: Christians who humiliate, torture and abuse.
As far as I see, the only thing Christians are missing out on is a life free from having to feel guilty about being like the rest of us!!!
Theres so much emphasis on being sinful and having to redemn yourself. Must be an exhausting, stressful and guilt-ridden life! Thank the Goddess I'm not Christian!!

I don't think you're missing out on anything unless your religion keeps you from exploring new things, thoughts, and ideas. As long as you're able to do that, then the only different between a Christian and a non-Christian is belief, different belief, or disbelief and nothing more. Oh - and non-Christians might get more sleep on Sunday. But I wouldn't call that "missing out."

Its tough to tell you what youre misssing out on. But this is the easiest way - you know all those things that you DONT DO because of your faith? Not because youre not interested, not because you dont want to...but things that you really want to try, to experience, but cant because your faith doesnt allow it? Well, youre missing out on all those things... I also beleive that many Christians refuse to read/learn ANYTHING that disagrees with their faith. Honestly, ask yourself - can you be a well rounded individual, can you call yourself intellectually liberated when you refuse to read or learn about a differing viewpoint?? Youre missing out on that too... Also, how many of you people refuse to be around people that do not worship as you do? Youre missing out on those experiences as well.
Youre missing out on a whole lot more than just sex drugs and rock and roll.

Christians are missing out on reality. You live a myth. You waste your time, energy and money worshiping something that is not real. Think of how much better our world would be if the resources that are put into religion, were put to scientific research instead.
PS - I am faithful to my husband, I rarely drink and I only take drugs that are prescribed by a doctor. Are you saying that I am living a Christian life?

its not the drugs and alcohol, although I'd hate for anyone to miss out on a healthy adult relationship.
The most vocal Christians go around with a look on their faces like they just bit into a lemon. Sorry, but it's true. The most vocal Christians have miserable, small little lives, filled with guilt and fear and festering resentment. Don't tell me it's not true because I have family members in just such a state.
They worry about who said hell or damn yet allow their husbands to throw their children out of the house in winter because 'the bible says men are the heads of households'.
I do NOT exaggerate with this.
