It is a huge resource hog. It slows down top-of-the-line computers. I suggest installing XP, it works much better right now.

No, your new computer has probbly 512 MB of RAM minm req to run vista is 1GB of Ram Corp. are selling laptop with not enuf power to run vista and it's very slow... in a few months they'll be over 100,000 complaints around the Us... if you want ur computer to be fast you need to upgrade to at lest 1GB. i have the same problem thats y i'm going to downgrade back to xp b/c Xp can run perfectly on a 512! hope this helps!

as some one who works on and with computers all day long .
i have come to like some of vista's features and dislike others .
i still mainly use xp , but i do have xp and vista set in dual boot so it's all a matter of what i wish to run

vista is much faster than xp. I have 1.5 gig ram, 1 gig is probably the minimum for it to run faster than xp. If you dont have enough ram or your graphics card sucks vista will is slow as hell. Vista is the best windows so far.
