Generally speaking yes but not always. All of my Christian friend are excellent parents, and i have lived in other countries, many of those parents are pretty bad. Love your kids, be affectionate, but spank if necessary, have rules and stick by them. Be wholesome parents, don't sit around with men, drinking, etc. and having your daughter see this as an example, don't be a dad talking dirty to your daughter's freinds. Have a good work ethic, have integrity and morals.
Here's what i see [even on this board] girls are overly aggresive, even paying for the dates, as if the guys are a prized treasure, giving all the guys they 'date' sex. Practically begging the guys to get married, instead of letting him pursue her. Then off she goes to work leaving the children at daycare, etc.,even worse the man sits at home, losing his masculinity. Eventually she meets a man at work, or in a club [because she has the 'right' to go out] she rationalizes cheating, or the husband does- then it's divorce time--and this is supposed to be good for the kids? It is disaster- all you have to do is read all the heartache from the kids on this board. The ones who stay commited are the non selfish ones, but this is only 50% of the population. I think i answered both questions, learn God's standards, have morals don't give yourself like a cheap ho- that isn't love, alwasy respect yourself and only hang with respectable friends. Then what follows is your kids will do the same, as least as far as it concerned you. Liberalism and P.C. is destroying society.

Some not all.
I think it could be improved by people having children for the right reasons, when they are mature enough to be responsible for another life.
I was at my children's school recently and saw a child who is in grade four with her nose pierced and mascara on.
Too many people are not thinking of their child's best interest when making decisions. They are thinking about the child being upset if they say no, or they accept the old response of "all my friends are...." It's time for parents to grow up!

as a whole, YES american parents have dropped the ball on a number of things, like responsibility, integrity, support and time spent with thier kids. they have relied too much on schools , tv, and peers to do some of the child rearing. Plus, many of them are dealing with baggage themselves to be good, stable parents.
improving would be 1) dont have kids until your READY, 2) spend alot of time with them (not watching TV but doing and talking) and 3)know that YOU are the most important teacher and influence in their lives

i am a new parent, i'm 28yrs old and i have 2 boys, 3 and 1 yrs old.
some parents seem to let their kids run wild. there also seems to be a total lack of respect in the youth, but maybe that seems to always be the case.
i think parents aren't parenting enough.
how do you improve this? i don't know, i'm doing the best i can, but i have little ones. how do you handle some bratty teenager who thinks that they are entitled to whatever they want? i think it starts with respect. respect for one another, respect for oneself, most of all honor thy parents.
