I'm a performing arts student and I've got an interview tomorrow for the post of residential assistant for an academy of the arts during the holidays. My duties would be to liase between the students and teachers, supervise the students (who are between 16 - 18), make sure the rooms are set up properly etc. As the name implies it is a residential position - I'll be staying there the whole time. What do you think the questions will be like? Thanks in advance.

Let them know that you know about safety and that you can follow their safety procedures with a level head. Also, tell them about other times you have been responsible. They are looking for someone who is professional, responsible, and personable. Be friendly, smile a lot and look in their eyes. Sorry I don't have more for you. It says a lot about you that you are preparing for this! :) Good luck!

Could you tell us about yourself?
What makes you think that you would be suitable for this position?
Tell us about your communication skills?
How would you deal with a complaint about a teacher from a student e.g the student says that the teacher has a favourite...
(If there are opposite gender students) How would you deal with inappropriately flirtatious behaviour?
How would you deal with a student who has a crush on you?
What would you do if a student became loud and abusive and refused to listen to you/?
What are your strategies in dealing with the students to keep in control?
What would you do if the student came back drunk?
How will you deal with unwanted guests of the students?
How would you deal with a student who threatened suicide?
Do you have any strategies for improving student/teacher communications?

One of my friends had a similar summer job when he was 22, a maths graduate. He didn't have much extracurricular experience, except an interest in foreign language classes. He showed he was responsible, reliable (the sort of person you can call at 2am, someone trustworthy).

It isn't the questions (or answers) that they care about -- it is the attitude. Answer questions honestly, do not lie about anything -- if you don't know the answer, tell them that you don't know. Act professionally -- since you will be responsible for students. Show interest in the job.

Do that and you will be fine.

BTW -- Liaise, not Liase.
