Well if my grandad got married again when he was 82 I'm sure you can find a new relationship at the ripe young age of 60.

Like a lot of people have suggested a social group is a good place to start. I would pick one that you have an interest in and that is also likely to appeal to men. For instance your local amateur dramtics society will not have men but your local ramblers club probably will. Even if there isn't anyone there you 'fancy' at least you are widening your social circle and that puts you in the best situation for meeting 'friends or friends' which is surely the best way to meet a potential partner.

I think it is also important ot just say 'yes' more often. A shopping trip, a drink down the pub, a meal at a friends - you should say 'yes' because you never know who else might be there. And if a man you've never met before suddenly asks to see youagain then your answer should be 'yes' if you like the look of him rather than worrying about 'what might happen'.

You could also put the word around your friends - I know no-one likes to be 'set-up' but they might know of an eligible 'bachelor' or merry widower who is right up your street but they haven't said for fear of offending or meddling.

So come one - get those dancing shoes on - I bet there is a silver fox just waiting to charm the,( well I'm not sure I should say 'pants' to a lady of your age - shall we just say 'cardigan' but both know what we mean?) off you someone out there.

You know, I'm having the same problem, and I'm 30! I don't think it's a result of age.

To be honest, though, I'd suggest taking up hobbies, doing some activities that are pretty social. I don't know what you like to do, but when you're out doing it, maybe you'll see someone who's into that thing, too. If you aren't out among people, you won't find someone to date. I just keep putting myself in situations where there are lots of people and hope I find one that strikes me as having potential!

Join a church singles club for those in your age group. You could also try a dating service, take dancing lessons where you just might meet a suitable person. Love knows no age. You just have to make sure your out somewhere where you can meet the right person. Good luck to you!

I must say..60 years is a long journey...by this time, you must have learnt to say the word no very frequently and be happy too !

well, remember that all the times you entered a relationship the word no was missing ! and the word yes seemed so beautiful..

maybe you need to unlearn the word no and learn saying yes once again !

its hard ..its tough...but at 60 you have very little to lose...lots to learn and everything to gain...

you have defined pain over these years...time to redefine it !

Hope this helps !

60 is not old... can you still walk on your own? take a bath on your own? if you can... then you're not old... do you like playing bingo? do you think you're still a safe driver for you age? how was 1950's like? anyway, you can still find love in your age... and not all good men are taken... some of them are still looking for the love of their lives.... it might be you.

*i'm taken but i'm a Baaaaddd mannnn.... ***
