I'm 45 years old and have been dating my boyfriend for almost 2 years. I knew when I met him his mother was moving in with him. After 2 years, the time has come for mom to move in. I feel very awkward about it. I feel like they are setting up house together, when he and I should be doing that.
He says he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, but do I wait 5 to 10 years for that to happen? or might happen?
I just know I could never live with he and his mom.

So I left...now what does your gutt tell you...?

Does he know that? If not, talk to him about it. And either way, if he says he will always live with mommy then you'll have to move on to someone else. Who knows how long you should wait for 'the rest of your lives' to begin, besides you? If you think by now you should be living together and just can't stand it that you aren't, then move on. Good luck =]

you were aware of the situation from the start so you really don't have a place to do anything about it. plus that's his mom and she may be in a financial position where she has to move in. if i were you i would try to learn to deal with it or once you move in together buy a bigger house and give his mom her own seperate area, maybe set up a basement apartment with her own kitchen so she'll be more independent
