Is it ok to have a bridal shower at the same place that you are having your wedding reception?

By the way, I am NOT the host of my own Bridal Shower. I have a perfectly good bridal party, but since most live out of town, I was asked for a few suggestions, and was wondering if the reception site would be able to be one of them. Thanks.

Sure! It works really well because you get to know the establishment a little bit by already having an event there. For my friend's shower, I had it at the clubhouse that was right off the banquet hall where her wedding reception was held. It allowed a lot of the guest to know where the reception hall was and they could lead people over there after the wedding. It also helped her get to know some of the staff a little better and get good ideas for decorating the hall for her reception.

Yes, the same place is fine, but you are NOT supposed to host your own bridal shower. (I can't tell by the way you worded your question if you are planning your own shower or not, but it kind of sounds like it.) That would be extremely bad manners.

A shower needs to be hosted by a non-family member who volunteers to throw it for you (no roping-in someone).

Sure! Helpful even, as some people will already know where to go and can point guests in the right direction.

Sure! Plus the people who are invited to the shower will already know where to go.

I really don't think there's any wrong with that. Maybe you'll can decorate too so there's less to do on the day of the wedding.
Congrats and have fun....

definitely! usually the site will offer a discount because you're having them in the same place. plus people won't have any trouble finding it on your wedding day because they've already been there
