He's Tom DeLay, that's what happened. The Republicans have never ever done anything wrong to go to jail. They are all honest good people...

man there's alot of haters on here evidenced by the scores on the right leaning answers and the responses by the left leaning ones. the truth whether anyone wants to admit it or not is that the laws he supposedly broke were not even laws when he supposedly broke them. if you look at the history between him and the prosecutor it does look like a timed witch hunt with no merit. so the answer is most likely the prosecution is trying to get him to negotiate a deal to save face for themselfs.

The entire republican judge scandal perpetrated by the bush(sic) cronies was staged "just so Tom could get away with his crimes". One judge was the real target. Look how well it worked. No one but me saw through the ruse.
Now everyone knows.

He has friends in high places. Plus, he's a good ol' boy from way back. Even if he did go to jail, it would at Club Fed. Sad, I know, but true.

Delay and his attorneys are trying to exhaust all of his appeal powers in regards to the indictments. So therefore, no trial until that part is completed.

What did he do that was wrong? After all are not public officials immune from prosecution? Or did his buddy pay off the right people?

Baseless political accusations are timed to do the most damage to the greatest benefit to the accuser.

By the time the smoke settles and all the charges are found to be false, the damage is done.

He didn't do anything wrong or illegal. It was all just a dog and pony show.

this is not russia . people cant be locked up for political reasons. thats why we dont need Dem prez, wed get political prisoners and death squads again
