Short answer: Yes. Actually, all alcohol is made using grains, vegetables, and fruits that have fermented (fancy word for rotted). Rotten potatoes produce vodka, which has been made for millenia, especially in slavic countries like Russia.

In the US, fermented produce has been used to create apple cider, moonshine (corn whiskey), and beer.

The process for brewing beer and making vodka or whiskey is the same for the most part. Beer is fermented from the wort and vodkas and whiskey are distilled from the wort. So the answer is yes, and quite easily. Enjoy!
