I missed that one. My friend told me it was very disturbing so I'm sure your not the only one. By the sounds of it I'm happy that I missed it.

Well, I saw that episode a few weeks ago, I guess they re-aired it. I wondered the same thing. I guess, maybe after they get sick a few times from the raw meat, and from not washing their hands they will build up a tolerance. Our bodies build up anti-bodies so we can never suffer from the same strain of a virus again.
Of course, shows like that are filmed for hours upon hours for weeks. The editors cut out and paste certain scenes and clips to make a more dramitic and sometimes completely fake scene. You can't really trust those shows to be totally accurate. Many times things are exagerated or cut off before the person can explain what they really mean.

Eww who brushed their teeth with lard or w/e they used?! It was weird when the children actually got upset when the new wife made them eat normally. Then they childrne complained that they felt "sick" after eating cooked food. It seemed to me like the children had no life or friends, they did not go to school, and their schooling was pretty much farming and their lifestyle. When I think about brain wahsing this comes to my mind.
They had one point that most of our food today is bad for us. Most things have trans fat (hydronated oils) and high fructose corn syrup (which is actually illegal in some countries) too much salt and whatever else. All of these things lead to serious health problems, but I don't think eating raw meat is going to help....
They also said that if oyu don't eat every X hours that your body will go into some sort of starvation, what the heck?

They really go to extremes in that show to keep up ratings... it's pathetic really. I see a lot of junk that goes on that shouldn't be allowed, like destroying other people's property when the rules change takes effect, pulling kids out of public schooling or heavily changing their schooling routine, etc.
Anything that affects property, health, education (negatively impacting it), etc. shouldn't be allowed... but I don't make the rules. I only watch it just to get an idea of what kinds of people are living out there, taking it all in with a HUGE grain of salt, if and when I watch. I didn't see last night's.

Well, it isn't illegal, or even considered abuse. I saw it as well. Now, I do not really think they were living under the best conditions, I don't think there was necessarily anything "wrong" with it. They were an interesting family, I will say that.
It kind of falls into the live and let live category. While, I wouldn't raise my kids in that manner, it isn't my place to tell other parents how to raise their children.

I'm disturbed by the concept of the show, I likes the Dave Chappelle version that was done before the show even came out...

Sorry. I hate the show for the fact they pick these people for maximum unreality-reality. Real world does not work that way.

I've only seen that show once, and it happened to be that episode.
"Do you think that God would put anything on this earth that would harm us?"
Um....viruses?
That family should have their children taken away by the state for endangerment.
