Michelle, There are government programs that give public assistance including educational stipend. The govt wants you to finish high school and at least get a 2 year or vocational degree.

Look your local county website and look at the state website as well....don't be afraid to ask for something......I don't mind paying taxes....so long as it goes to helping someone who wants to MOVE FORWARD.

most good jobs require you to be 17 or 18 to apply. You don't say your age. I know that things are hard for your poor choices and the only thing I can think of is some sort of job training program. I hope you are still trying to finish high school because that is the only way you will ever get ahead. I encourage you to go to college as well, even if it is a class at a time. A 2-year degree will do you wonders. Be strong and God Bless You and Yours.

I'm a single mother of two boys. I wasn't stuck in the fast food rut but I was stuck doing office duties. They had me working crazy... So I am now working from home. There are many work from home opportunities available out there. Check them out! If you don't want to go that route, check out some schools. There are several trade schools that will help you get the experience and training you need.

Do you have a family support system? Your mom? Grandparents etc? Who can help you get your GED, and maybe get into some sort of vocational training or Community College?

If not look into state/local programs that help single women. There is help out there, and don't think of it as you mooching or anything silly like that. Think of it as a helping hand up to where you need to be to provide for your beautiful children.

Poke around online to find services that can help you out.
http://www.singlemom.com/Ask/faq_financial.htm is one I found just poking around for a second.

Good luck to you. It sounds like you have the first piece of the puzzle, determination and willpower to want more for yourself. It might seem impossible to change your situation now, but there is help out there, I hope you find it.
