The longer that you wear your disposable contacts the more bacteria and protein is allowed to build up on your lenses. When we wear disposable contact lenses we tend to neglect cleaning them as well as we should if we wore extended wear contacts. When I personally over wore my disposable contact lenses I dealt with severe infections and irritation. If you are going to over wear them at least go out and get a heavy duty contact lense cleanser. A good one is Clear Care. It is a peroxide based cleanser that requires 8 hours of cleansing. If you use that nightly it will keep your lenses cleaner than if you used the typical no rub solution. Personally though, I would not over wear them. You run the risk of getting an infection; and, once you get a severe infection, it is hard to get rid of.

This just makes the risk of infection go slightly up. Mine are disposable every month, and I keep them a little longer to save money, but I make sure and use a high quality cleansing solution and take them out every 12 hours. So it really depends on how good of care you take for them.

For a lot of people your eyes start to itch & burn. Yes I have worn my 2 week contacts for up to 4 weeks and my eyes didn't fall out, but I have heard from eye doctor and others that if you make a habit of wearing them for terms longer than recommended the deposits that you clean off at night still are on there to some extent and continually build up. In the long run it apparently hurts your vision so that your eyes continually worse at a faster rate than they would have normally. So I wouldn't make a habit of it. If your perscription is up & you need to make a pair last a little longer, for me it didn't really change anything.

Germs and grime will infest the contacts over time, which can lead to eye infections or ulcers. Disposables are not made to prevent this from happening. It is important not to wear them too much longer than is suggested by the manufacturer.

nothing.. the two week is just an estimation of how long they will last. i find if i switch between pairs every other day, mine last two to three times longer than the estimated time. just make sure you switch if you tear them, or they get cloudy

I wear mine for months! Not a good idea, but I do it (don't tell anyone). No problems so far.
