My hair is naturally curly and when i straighten it, it always seems to try to become wavy again. Humidity is always making my hair wavy after I straighten. I use straightening products but they don't help a ton.

Make sure that you have a good straightener.
Also make sure your using it totally properly.
Always divide your hair into many sections.
Then go slow, but not too slow to the point that it will burn your hair.
If it looks like a piece is getting wavy..try putting some of that flexible hairstray in your hair.

I agree with the person below. But if you really want to do it, then here you go! First, get some sort of straightening gel. Then section (part) your hair. Apply the gel before you straighten, and then straighten! Its not that hard. Just make sure your hair is combed out too.

My daughter's hair is very kinky and she uses a flat iron. You can get one at any Walgreen's at a very reasonable price. It plugs in just like a curling iron; you wait for it to heat up and waa laa, start staightening that curly hair. You may need some type of pomade as a moistener; it depends on what type of hair you have. You don't want to apply the heat on those beautiful curls without some protection from the heat.

The herstyler! I think they do have a website! I have straight hair, but I use the Herstyler to make my hair ultra straight! My Mom and sister have curly hair, and the Herstyler does work on them. The best part is it doesn't damage your hair, and reguardless to running your fingers through your hair, or trying to curl it, the straigtness stays! It's inexpensive, and everyone in LA has it! You can get any color, or curl your hair with it, or do a flip! Super cute!

Do not use a cheap straghtner. And there are products that are used for curly hair and straightners like oils and such to limit the damage that the heat does

don't do it. naturally curly hair is beautiful, makes you look younger, and requires no styling other than wash, condition & curl cream, finger comb & air dry.

i have naturally wavy hair, and it is completely resistant to any styling. be thankful and celebrate what you have, don't straighten your hair (and potentially damage it) just for the sake of conforming to some fashion ideal.

i have very curly, and i use a boar's hair round brush and i blow dry it straight . however the ends get curled but i like it . you could try chemical straighting but then you open a whole new can of worms.
