Confucianism is perhaps best understood as an all-encompassing humanism that neither denies nor slights Heaven.

Confucianism has been followed by the Chinese for more than two millennia. It has deeply influenced spiritual and political life in China; its influence has also extended to Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. East Asians may profess themselves to be Shintoists, Taoists, Buddhists, Muslims, or Christians - but seldom do they cease to be Confucians.

Confucianism (Traditional Chinese: 儒學; Simplified Chinese: 儒学; pinyin: Rúxué [ Listen (help·info) ], literally "The School of the Scholars"; or 孔教 Kŏngjiào, "") is a Chinese ethical and philosophical system originally developed from the teachings of the early Chinese sage Confucius. It should be noted that many "Confucian" teachings existed before Confucius but they were summaried and further developed by him. Confucianism is a complex system of moral, social, political, philosophical, and religious thought which has had tremendous influence on the history of Chinese civilization up to the 21st century. Some people in the West have considered it to have been the "state religion" of Imperial China because of the Chinese government's promotion of Confucianist values.

Debated during the Warring States Period and forbidden during the short-lived Qin Dynasty, Confucianism was chosen by Emperor Wu of Han for use as a political system to govern the Chinese state. Despite its loss of influence during the Tang Dynasty, Confucianist doctrine remained a mainstream Chinese orthodoxy for two millennia until the 20th century, when it was attacked by radical Chinese thinkers as a vanguard of a feudal system and an obstacle to China's modernization, eventually culminating in its repression and vilification during the Cultural Revolution in the People's Republic of China. After the end of the Cultural Revolution, Confucianism has been revived in mainland China, and both interest in and debate about Confucianism have surged.

The cultures most strongly influenced by Confucianism include those of China (including Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau), Japan, Korea, and Vietnam as well as various territories (including Singapore) settled predominantly by Chinese people.

Confucianism as passed down to the 19th and 20th centuries derives primarily from the school of the Neo-Confucians, led by Zhu Xi, who gave Confucianism renewed vigor in the Song and later dynasties. Neo-Confucianism combined Taoist and Buddhist ideas with existing Confucian ideas to create a more complete metaphysics than had ever existed before. At the same time, many forms of Confucianism have historically declared themselves opposed to the Buddhist and Taoist belief systems.

Confucianism is a school of thought fathered by Confucius. Confucianists live just like any other person lives. Chinese culture has been greatly influenced by Confucianism so if you wish to see how Confucians live, look at the Chinese. Confucianists think they are people, just like the rest of us. Their purpose of living is the same as the rest of ours.

Confucianism makes no claims about the reason for existence or how we came to be. It is just a system of rule.

In Chinese History; Confucious is a hollyman who taught people to follow the system which was created by Chow dynasty. Everybody do their own job and duty to the heaven master son. The society will be in regularily. These are good for the emporer who loved this program very much.
For Chinese people can only lean on the heaven master selected a good emperor for us otherwise there were so many evolutions again and people of China were under water.
I can say that every policy to people will have 2 faces; one is good, other is bad.
From your standpoint of view, you can say good or bad. In ancient time, might be good during the wars dynasty. Nowaday, people love democracy and take a majority words which still have problem; corruption, Chaos, and stingy.
If you are better than Confucious, you will be another hollyman again. See if you can stand out and take up this responsibilty.

The message is not the same and the "same spirit" does not bring the messages. The message is "salvation" of some sort. Religions have many things in common, but the primary message is how the practitioner can be "saved" from or can remove, get rid of, or stop suffering. Christianity preaches the message that suffering can only be removed through the intercession Christ. Islam preaches the message that suffering can only be removed through Allah. Buddhism preaches the message that suffering can only be removed through awareness. Hinduism preaches the message that suffering can only be removed through advancing one's place in the world via reincarnation. There is no similar message. The Golden Rule is "A" message about how one should behave that many religions and philosophies have in common. The Golden Rule is not "THE" message about how one should believe that religions are spreading, though. The conflict and the ideation between who is wrong and right isn't about how we should all treat each other, but how, in the end, we are saved from suffering. Since each religion has a different idea about "salvation" and so much power, wealth, and culture is tied up in the expression of religion, "who is right and who is wrong" alters society profoundly when it changes. An example: what happened to the Roman Empire when Constantine decided Christianity was right and the Roman Pantheon was wrong? What happened in Spain when Ferdinand and Isabella decided that the Pope was right and Protestants, Jews, and Muslims were wrong? Yes, all religions have some form of "be nice to each other" in them. Since "be nice to each other" is not the primary message of any religion, but more of a part of the behavior code, it can't be said that religions all have the "same message" so why can't we all just get along?
