Seems like a double standard to me. The Church comes down hard on gays but not on straight couples having sex. They just say "oh they are just being kids let them have their fun." Sex outside of marriage is a sin as well or have you forgotton?

The church has always turned a blind eye to its straight members. It's okay you can say your hail marrys and be on your way. It's kinda sick hows it done. Church members don't want the pastor to point out thier sins. If he knows whats best for him and if he wants to keep his job he better not point out the sins of his congregation but it is okay for the memebers to do it. Church politics is kinda sick anyways. hurch politics cause more drama than gay men.

Do you mean the Catholic Church? Don't know why it's like that.
Sex outside of marriage definitely is a sin.

I think that both things are wrong in Gods eyes. But I also see your point. I don't think that any church would say that it is OK to have sex. But they do turn there heads to it. One wouldn't have any repercussions for there actions. But if they were open to being gay then they would. At least in most churches. But I can speak for my own when I say that at the kingdom hall (Jehovah's Witness ) it is not OK to have sex before marriage or to have sex (or married) to one of the same sex.

Because some people take it upon themselves to dictate what they think everyone else should do, but they themselves are some how exempt from the rule. Kinda like cops speeding down the street or highway w/o their lights on. They just have to enforce the rules, not follow them.
I agree...its a load of crap, but there are tons of double standards that exist in society.... Take the fact that most of the population puts the responsibility of protection during sex on the woman and if the man refuses, its her fault for going ahead in the first place. At one college up north the health department would hand out condoms to the guys, but refused to prescribe birth control for the women or hand out female condoms. Goddess forbid the man have any self control or enough intelligence to be responsible.....
I think its one of those "Do as a say, dont do as I do" scenarios....... Perhaps one day those type of people will pull their heads out of their own backsides...or everyone else will finally figure out what is going on....

This question doesn't even make sense, i am Atheist and dislike the church, so don't think i'm defending it when i say they advocate having sex only after marriage. And as for unmarried people, Gays have sex with multiple people just as much as a straight person will. Where did you get straight people think it's OKAY to have sex with otehr people while married? You yourself are generalizing straight people, in a generalization that doesn't even exist.

Last time I checked the Catholics still look down upon sex before marriage along with a lot of things. Doesn't mean that people don't do it. Just means people don't give a rats *** what the church says.

Hi Johnny,
Both of them are Sinful in the eyes of GOD. Our Preachers actually hold that a sin is a sin and do not come down as one being any different than the other. I have heard a couple of members who have done so but NOT our group as a whole. We spend a lot of time in BIBLE STUDY together each and every week and I find that no sin is right in the eyes of the FATHER. HIS WORD is what each of us will be judged from. Are you a Christian? Have you spent time reading and studying HIS WORD and found it important to become a Christian so that you might be in Heaven with HIM? I invite you to contact me at any time you are interested in studying and I will begin studying with you. Have a great week!
Thanks,
Eds, Non-Denominational Christian

Wrong. And what a "church" says or does has nothing to do with God's Word or the actions of a true Believer.

It's not alright for us straight people to have multiple sex partners or sex outside of marriage.
I have not forgotten.
I am married and I do not have sex outside my marriage.
My kids, the way they just act like kids is by planning mission trips and going to Christian concerts, playing in a worship band and not....again NOT dating or having sex.
Don't generalize!
