my fathers side of the family is this religion and the first nite i spend at there place they sat around i a circle and started to critize catholics! what an ignorant group of ppl dont they know were there religion evolved from??? dont they know were the second(after jews) most purest religion! not changing one thing about our faith and about we belive in since 100 of years ago.. yet,i wasnt even aloud to put the volume up to much on the tv or listen to music or eat pork!what is this??? if they fallow the bible,i dont remember it saying i cant listen to MUSIC! i think most protestan religions are rediculous EXCEPT for lutheran thanks to them, the cathoilc religion has been able to learn rite from wrong.everything else is just ridiculous and all our traditions, are probably the correct ones!!!!!since we havent decided by our own wil to change them when we want unlike other religions. as long as you love jesus christ your fine, and all catholics think like this, why cant others????????????

LOL! Glad to see your love for the Church! Very refreshing!

Well, do your best to not let your relatives get under your skin. I have Jehovah's Witness family and I pray for them constantly because I can't get through otherwise. I'd suggest you do the same. Study your faith and know it well. Read the Catechism. Study the bible. Go to Mass regularly. Go to Confession. It's the best thing you can do for yourself. Your life as a witness to Christ is the best kind of preaching you can do.

I love this quote from St. Francis of Assisi: "Preach the word of God every day of your life, and when necessary, use words."

God bless.

I am a Christian of no denomination, but I was brought up Catholic - school, church, sunday school.
I am going to be blatently honest with you, and do not have any intention of offending.
This is the deal: I went thru all the schooling and sunday school and church masses, and do you know what I learned in total?
That Eve ate an apple; thats about it.
And when I began studying in the manuscripts, and found out there was not any fruit eating sin in the Bible, I was quite ticked off. The Catholic Church teaches nothing. You go to a mass each week for what purpose? To worship, okay thats fine.
But what do you learn of Gods Word there?
The Priest says a line, and then you have a pre-written response that you recite week after week after week. God is your Heavenly Father. Treat him as such. When you talk to your earthly father, do you just recite the same line to him again and again?
If you did, he'd ask you what the heck you are trying to tell him, wouldn't he?
When Christ would go to the Temple, why did he go? And why did others go to see him there? Because they were taught the Word of God there. You can have all the mass recitals you want, but if you know nothing of the truth of what is written in Gods Word, I'm sorry, but then your church is known by God as what he calls a "Beth Aven", which means "House of Nothing", or a "House of Vanity", if you prefer.
Some insight for you about what churches that God approves of: go to Revelation 1, and note verse 1:10, where John is taken in the spirit all the way past from where we are today in 2007, to the day Christ returns, and John is told to write a message to 7 churches. Only 2 of those churches were approved by God. You will find them at 2:8 and 3:9 - These two churches were the only ones approved by God, and quess what:
they both TAUGHT THE SAME THING TO THEIR CONGREGATION. So I submit to you two things:
First, that if you are in a church that does not teach anything, you are not in an approved church. and second,
if you are in a church that does not teach what both of those churches taught (which is exactly the same, both of them) then you are in a church that is not approved of by God. Now I would think that if you are a Christian, you would want to be in a church that God approves of, right? Well, check it out for yourself. What did those two churches teach that made God happy with them????
As for getting in a circle and talking against the Catholics, thats just plain weird. Hey, look around you, isn't it true that we could find something to "talk about" where every religion is concerned? Why? Because we are all people, and there aren't any of us perfect, thats why. Can't they discuss politics or something else????

(I am a Catholic.)

Here's my view on the whole Christian denominations: God doesn't really care too much. There are different denominations because different people read different things out of the Bible. Just believe, do good deeds, and pray to God and you'll be fine. Different people have different needs, thus causing different forms of Christianity.

And to those whp say Catholics condemn non-Catholics, that couldn't be farther from the truth now-a-days. This isn't 1207, it's 2007. We don't have the right to condemn anyone, that belongs to God and God alone. If we condemn non-Catholics, why would we let them go to Catholic schools? Because we don't condemn them to hell.

We DONT worship saints, OK? (Needed to let that out)

Bottom line: go with what you need in life, and just pray to the Lord.

All Biblical Christians abhor pseudo-Christian religions more than paganism. Why?Because Catholicism is blending paganism with the Bible and bringing all religions together for the Antichrist.J.P.ll met with witchdoctors, and was blessed by a Hindu priest in the early 1990s.If that doesn't alert Christians to come out of spiritual Babylon....nothing will.

Because the Bible is so contradictory that you can make almost anything you want out of it. Evangelicals obviously see something different than Catholics do and they can probably find verse to back up their position, just as Catholics could also find verse to back up their position and all the other denominations as well. How can the Bible possibly be the word of God when it is sooooo contradictory and created so much confusion? IF the Bible were not contradictory then there would only be one denomination.

I think it may be because people love to judge others. My experience with Catholics has not been good. They can be very judgmental also telling me I am going to hell because I am not Catholic. So I guess what goes around comes around. It is wrong no matter who you are. But,like you said Catholics believe in Jesus just like others so people really should just leave them alone.Everyone should really just mind their own business and worship how they choose.

I have been worried about the evangelicals for a long time now. i truly believe that they suffer from a group psychosis. Some of them seem to have experienced a break from reality. Religion is no for everyone, I think. I think only educated and reasonable people should practice religion, because the simple minded masses don't understand it and turn it into some evil thing that they use to justify everything they say and do.

truly christian people love and respect all people. i have the same problem in family they too will speak bad about catholics and it does no good defending them because then they do it even more. i have had many catholic friends and they are just as wonderful as any other christian. just be the way you are respecting everyone for that is what a true christian would do

1. I believe ALL religions are ridiculous.
2. You complain about some religions attacking Catholicism, and in the same breath you attack other religions. This is the very definition of hypocrisy.

Spoken like a true Christian!!
