I don't know. What is Cindy Sheehan, anyway, besides a pissed-off mom who jumped on the left-wing bandwagon against the war?
In that sense, if Tillman's mom uses her 15 minutes of fame to do the same thing -- use her son's death for a political cause -- then yeah, she is the same.
The sick thing is that the media's only paying attention to this because the guy was a football player. If he were like anyone else, with no political or celebrity status, his family would get nowhere with their personal vendetta against the Army.
Pat Tillman did a courageous thing by joining, and his death was very tragic. But it isn't any more special than any other soldier's death. There are many families who would like to know exactly how and why their loved ones have died, but not everyone is "special" like the Tillmans apparently think they are.

Nope. As a liberal and Soldier, I don' t have much use for Cindy Sheehan. She does very little to support her own cause, even.
Ms. Tillman, however...I can feel for her. If everything she is saying is true (which I am not sure that it is yet) the Army used the high-profile death of her son as a tool to put a public relations spin on the war, while at the same time lying to her and her family when the truth was well known. That's a true black mark on those officers involved.
I really hope this situation works itself out. Always tell the truth...it goes along with the Army value of integrity.

No, I don't think so. In this case Mrs. Tillman has a right to be upset and say the things she's saying. She's also not saying things on behalf of her deceased son, contrary to what the 21st Century's "Hanoi Jane," Cindy Sheehan is doing.
Mrs. Tillman has every right to be upset and speak out about it.
Sheehan, on the other hand, needs to STFU and go away. She's dishonored her son enough already.

Whole different story. Tillman died and the family was lied to about the circumstances under which his death occur ed. Sheehan's son joined the ARMED FORCES after 9/11 and low and behold was sent to war and died. Sheehan was shocked that this could happen. Guess she didn't quite understand the whole armed part of the armed forces.

I don't think so. I think she's just a grieving mother who wants to know the truth after being lied to.
Cindy Sheehan is mentally unwell and probably was that way before her son was killed.

well, yes. but I don't pretend to know what it's like to lose a son---I have a son, and were he to die I'd be devastated.
here's the deal---there was no harm done to Tillman after he died, by the Army. the offense was that the higher-ups tried to dignify his death, gloss over the horrible accident, by saying that he was killed by the enemy. There is little glory, little dignity, and it really hurts recruiting, when a famous guy is shot by his own comrades.
you know who I feel sorry for? the poor guy who shot Tillman. He'll have to live with it for years.
and I pray for his mother, his widowed wife, his loyal brothers, everyone who knew him. No one speaks ill of the dead, but there seems to be a pretty unanimous consensus that Tillman was a special guy. May God bless his soul, and the ones who grieve for him---Brian

She is grief stricken over the loss and circumstances over his death. The Army lied about it. They made her into another Cindy Sheehan.
