How many drinks make you a drunkard?

I'm worried about my friend. He drinks no less than four 16 oz beers a day. Yesterday was really nice, so a bunch of us walked across the street to a deli for lunch break yesterday. My friend had a 12 oz beer with his lunch.
I know it isn't like he's drinking 10 a day, the average is more like 6, but because he drinks a pretty good amount EVERY day, I think he's a drunkard. Do you agree?

Hard to say. Alcoholics often say "one drink is too many, and 1000 is never enough". Catch my drift? There's not a particular number of drinks that a drunk has to have to be an alcoholic. It all depends on the effect alcohol has on an individual. Your friend may just be heavy drinker, but if he has problems such as holding a job, relationship issues, or getting in trouble when he drinks, he may be an alcoholic. Your best bet is to make sure your friend knows that he has your support, no matter what. Good luck!

drunkard,thats a pretty harsh word,don't you agree?? I picture a drunkard as one of those skinny,dirty old men you see in a back alley trying to take a drink of their wine, but they have the shakes so bad they can't even get it up to their lips. What happens when your friend does'nt get his beer one day?? How does he act??If he gets depressed or even anngry that he does'nt have a drink then your friend is well on his way to alcoholisim.

Yes, I do! No one needs to drink that many alcholic beveis a day. Like if he's getting buzzed or feeling good, same diff. I would say. He then may have a problem. I hope he doesn't let the drinking get in the way of the important things in his life. i would say yes he surely has a prob.

in my opinion a drunkard is an alcoholic it doesnt matter how much but if you have to have it that matters and the underlying reasons why!

NO...NOT UNTIL IT GETZ 2 THA POINT WHERE HE NEEDZ BEER ALL DAY THEN IT BECOMEZ A PROBLEM...LIKE THE FIRST THING HE DO WHEN HE WAKE UP IS DRINK AH BEER
