i have just broken my can opener at work when i smashed it across the floor.. as its a piece of pooh! and kept my soup trapped inside the can..
I have a hard time operating can openers i'm not sure why.. however.. does anyone have any suggestions for next time as i do not want to waste 20 mintues of my lunch trying to untrap my soup from the can

Get the soup with those pull tabs. Yah, it may cost a bit more, but you won't have to worry about working a car opener. Hehehe!

Well sorry to hear about your lunch! but I know something that my grandmother used to do before she ever used a can opener, you can use a bottle opener the kind with a sharp edge and its pointy all you have to do is make two holes on either side of the can one to pour out the soup and the other for air ventilation you can make as many holes as you need to depending on how think the soup is but i would probably only use it if it were a brothy soup...!hope that helped :)

some cans now come with pull tops
get a can opener that does the V opening for like fruit juice. pop a hole on top on each side of the can and just pour the soup out, the extra hole allows air to enter as the soup exits.

definitely get soup cans with flip-open type lids like soda cans. or buy the soup that comes in the sqaure cardboard boxes that open up like chicken stock containers. i think those soups are labeled "premium" or "select" soups.

Most grocery stores carry soup cans with lids that you can pop off like a soda can. i would suggest that... or buy an electric can opener. be safe!

I have an OXO Good Grips Swing Arm manual can opener and I love it! It's great and I've had it for just about ever!

the cheap openers NEVER work..You have to get one that is $3.00 and up. its much better
