Because they have the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. What else could a "real" Christian want?

That is about like asking why don't you believe in being an Athiest and a Christian? You cannot believe the sky is blue and red at the same time. We beleive different things than other religions. To say that you believe to be a Christian and some other religion, you kind of help athiests in claims that Christians are ignorant and easily manipulated.

Look, the fundamental belief of Christianity is that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no man comes to the Father but through Him. The path of salvation is a narrow straight one.

You cannot take 2 roads in opposite directions at the same time. It is impossible. No other religion on Earth agrees with Christianity. They may not agressively attack Christianity, but they do not believe the above fundamental truth.

I believe it to be true because it is rational, logical, and proven sufficiently. I have seen plenty of evidence to convince me that this is truth and worth believing in.

Some of the main evidences I have been persuaded by are the thousands of fufilled prophesies throughout the Bible, parallel books (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) that match up perfectly although they were written by different people at different times, non-Christian historical evidence (writings of Tiberius) that affirm the story of Jesus, archeological evidence that never contradicts the history of the Bible, the fact that life as we know it exists because of a razor thin perfect environment that could not have been any different, and the reserectection of Jesus, which was a fufillment of several prophesies made hundreds of years earlier in itself.

How can I believe that Jesus died and was reserected? Simple, there were 11 faithful diciples. They were hiding and feared for their lives right after Jesus was crucified. All of a sudden, for no other reason, they became bold and fearless. They believed so strongly that Jesus was dead and now alive that they all were tortured and 10 died horrible deaths because they would not say it was a lie. John was, according to Tiberius, was forced off of a plank into a boiling pot of oil and then pulled out before he was banished to the Island of Patmos (spelling?). All of them were given the option to avoid all of this pain on one condition, that they denounce Christianity and admit that Jesus was dead. None of them did so, they died painful deaths because they beleived it so stongly.

I don't know about you, but even if something was true and all I had to do was say it wasn't to avoid crucifiction, beheading, or toruture, I would probably be very tempted to do so. The counter argument that a lot of people die for something that is not true cannot be used for this reason: If I were a Muslim and became a suicide bomber, I am basing my action on what I have been taught or told. If I were one of the diciples, I would have first hand information. That is, I would have actually seen the evidence. This is not something they were told. This was something they knew. If it were not true, why would they die for it? They would absolutely know if it were a lie, not just believe it was true, they knew for certain. Nobody dies for something that they KNOW is false.

Sorry, about writing a whole book, I wanted to be clear.

Hope this helps you understand.

Well, my fellow Christians (including the very first Chuch Fathers) and I base our beliefs on the historicity of the Scriptures. Its reliability goes hand in hand with the history of Israel. We see the Bible both as the word of God to us, written in our language in the history of mankind.

When a True God creates something, it is objective, not subjective. If he created a rock, no one will argue against it. We all agree it is a rock because it is a rock. This is different from other faiths for eg. Buddhism.

Recent archaelogical findings and the Exegesis and Hermeneutics of the Manuscripts such as that of the Masoretic Texts, Septuagint LXX and various other secular historical parchments from anti-Christians such as Julian the Apostate, Flavius Joseph Tacitus and Judaism criticisms that indirectly attest to not only the Resurrection Account, but also the reliability of the Gospels in the dictation of the exemplary life and miracles performed by Lord Jesus Christ in His earthly days among us.

Close scrutiny by sceptics worldwide has not controverted a single verse of the Bible. Here, we need to keep in mind that Christians have answered their answers with accordance to the sceptics' own fields of disciplines be they: medicine, psychology, law, history, literature, etc.

Having such reliability in terms of science and history, can we Christians not proclaim it's Truth? If we do not do so, we are hypocrites and the Bible is a lie. If we did not proclaim the truth that Lord Jesus is the only Way, the Truth and the Life, then the Bible is a lie for it had claimed that those who come into Christ will cease to be their old selfs but become a new creation: a creation that spreads the good news in genuine hope that others may receive the peace and blessings we have had. As you can see, our zeal is a testimony to its claims.

Here are a few questions for you to think about:

Would selfishness have spurred our Evangelical missions?

Would the Romans and Pharisees not have provided proof of the fallacy of the claims that Jesus Christ had resurrected?

Can a false religion permeate the very empire that sought to stamp it out (Christianity became the religion of Rome under Emperor Constantine)?

Would early Christians choose death over life by sticking fast to their faith? They refused to bow and worship Caesar and chose to face certain and gory death by the hands of barbaric gladiators and carnivorous beasts.

Can Christianity change the lives of so many people so dramatically over 2000 years if it were false?

I am not religious, but. I believe that Christianity is true b/c I have witnessed too many miracles in my family after praying for it all to be false.

My cousin spent 6 months in a coma b/c of a brain tumor. He was not supposed to live 1 yr, he would never walk or feed himself again. That was 20 years ago and he now has a degree in computer programming, walks with a cane, and lives alone in an apartment, taking care of himself. And then in 2002, my father died 11 times in 6 weeks (he had septic) and had cancer. He says that one of those times, he saw the "white light" and an angel literally told him "It is not your time, go home and take care of your family."

I personally think that all of the religions are connected, just interpreted differently. (Except of course atheism b/c you guys don't believe in any God.)

I am a Christian and i do not consider other religions to be "fake."

For the most part, all religions share the common goal of uniting God and man; but, I believe that there are two differences between Christianity and all other religions.

(1) other religions require that you do certain things in order to either gain God's favor or get closer to HIm, or heaven and Christianity teaches that we can't do anything to get closer to God except accept Jesus Christ.

(2) it seems that other religions seek to bring man closer to God, whereas the story behind Christianity is about God bringing Himself closer to man.

I do believe in other religions as long as they believe that there is one true God and that God has given us his only son to die for our sins. There are other religions and I don't think any religion is fake. The religion is what people believe in. Just because they believe in something does not however make it so. What makes my religion so is that God has made it so and written it in his word called the Bible. I don't think that because you choose a different church organization or eveen if you attend church you are going to heaven, it is what is in your heart and soul, not what is physically seen. Just because you go to chursh doesn't make you a christian.

That's the mistake of any religious man: to be only religious! A religious man it's like a supporter of a sport team. No one of their teams make mistakes. Instead if you have faith, it isn't important what religion you are believing, 'cause the target is only one: to do the will of the Father. In that situation you couldn't see anyone thinking as you think, like enemy. You could even verbally fight with who believes in another religion, but never make war against him. God doesn't send some sons against some other sons. So, saying 'God is with us', it's not only ridiculous but a terrible swear from men who decide what God have to think.

i may sound like a saint when i say this, but the only thing that separates Christianity from every other religion is Grace. do the research, it's true. and there is proof that the Bible is true. i've done a lot of research of other religions and i know that the one and only Truth is Jesus. and i've discovered that life w/o him would be so dull. even if you're not a Christian and your life is great, Jesus would make it better.

I believe that others religions are real enough for the believers of them. I am a Christian because I want to be more Christ-like. I want to be in the kingdom of Heaven, I thank our savior every day for dieing on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins. And I accept him as my one true savior.

Other religions represent efforts by man to reach out and find God, a demonstration of the inate need for God that exists in all human beings. The "gods" they have found, or more accurately, created, usually have little resemblance to the one true God. Two religions however - Judaism and Christianity - represent the one true God reaching out to mankind and revealing Himself.

I don't call other religions fake. I have studied most of the more common ones, and though interesting as they were, I chose to follow Jesus' teachings.
