I'm not against religious people (my wife's Catholic), but I agree with RD about religions, per se, in the following ways...

“I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world.” – Richard Dawkins

“Religion teaches the dangerous nonsense that death is not the end.” -- Richard Dawkins

"Many of us saw religion as harmless nonsense. Beliefs might lack all supporting evidence but, we thought, if people needed a crutch for consolation, where's the harm? September 11th changed all that." – Richard Dawkins

I'm not atheist or anti-religious. I mean I'm not a religious person by no means. I think religion puts way too many limitations on my life. I believe in a God so therefore I cannot be atheist. But again I'm not anti-religious because I don't mind if people are into their religion. I think its great if they find one that works for them. I only become semi anti religious when a certain religion trys to push their dogma unto me or claim that theirs is the only "true" religion and that all other religions are paganistic, devil worshiping heathens. Also those who claim to be religious cannot pick and choose what they like about the religion - that's called being a hypocrite ladies and gentlemen. You cannot go around preaching the word of God and telling the rest of us that we are going to hell for not going to church then turn around and fornicate with any ol' body that will open their legs or bend over.
Ok so thats my rant. Hope you enjoyed it.

I wouldn't say I am anti-religious. I think some people need their religion. Some sex offenders need their church to stop their urges. Some addicts say they need their church support group to not use or gamble.
I see nothing wrong with someone going to their church if they are truly getting something out of it.

That said. No one group's god has any place in schools, politics, place of business,etc...
Every church that brings in more money then they put back into the community should pay taxes on those monies.
The US was not founded on xian values so stop trying to turn America into a xian nation.
Stop killing Abortionists.
The American Christian Coalition does not speak for the American people, they speak for a small amount of the Christian population.
There is NO PROOF of god's existence, stop saying there is.
Leave science alone.

I am atheist and anti-religious because I think that religion is used as a manipulation device by the powers that be over the mass population. It is also used as a political shield to hide behind. I'd rather think for myself and not be a slave to ritual.

I am atheist, and anti-religious concerning myself. For the rest of the world, I am relgiously apathetic. I just don't really care what others believe. I only care when there is the chance their beliefs could possible become law, and therefore effect my life.

Other than that, what they believe is none of my business really. If they want to go to church, give their money, and do their thing there, more power to them.

that would be me. I am a Christian, I even attend church sometimes. BUT I beleive that part of our spiritual progress is to make churches unnecessary. Churches have become a roadblock to true communion with God as much as a path. Look at all the poor souls on this board, living their lives in fear of hell and damnation. They are in serious mysery over this question, and this fear and mysery was put, very intentionally, into their minds by Church Leaders.

One should read the 6 woes to the Pharasees to get an idea of what Jesus thought of the formal church.

I do dislike religions, not all, only those who live under the influence of a supernatural Deity, or just worship supernatural idiocy in general. E.G: Christianity, Islam, Scientology, Jedism (really) Hahaha. Buddhism, and religons similar are fine by me, with the exeption of that "i hope i come back in the next life as..."

I'm anti-christianity, mostly because of the things they, as an organization do, but religion is a good thing as long as it remains a belief system
