I mean, I looove them, and I go wild on a tight cleaveage.

Still, I've always wondered why most of us men are a gang of bust-nuts.

Does it have any Oedipus-ish implications?

An answer that's weirded me out is that human women's large breasts evolved (check out other apes' breasts - tiny) by sexual selection (google it if you need to) to emulate the appearance of the buttocks when humans started to walk upright. We're turned on by the sight of what we take to be the presentation of a female backside, for which we are hard-wired to be aroused. One question this doesn't answer though, is, why are we still attracted to the sight of female butt?

On the sexual selection issue, if there are women concerned at the tone of this post, check out male ape penises too. A silverback gorilla packs only ONE INCH! It does the job, but Mrs Gorilla simply isn't bothered about (the appearance of) size. Which means human women are. That's that argument settled, I think.

In nature, everyone wants the young to survive (I'm talking about normal here) so in mammals, the young in early times had to feed from the female breast, so naturally men looked for females with large 'baby feeders' so his kids would not starve. I know, size isn't all that important in milk production, but the primal men didn't know this, so it just is inbred to look at women in this way. It's just biological. :-)

I was watching a program on Discovery channel about the history of cleavage. Did you know that breast-lust among men is highest in the U.S.? It has something to do with our culture. I found that intriguing.

I saw a movie once that explained it- it's a circular shape with a smaller circular shape inside it and a point in the middle- it's a target- that's the ta-ta's themselves- the cleavage- well it's a tease isn't it- a mystery to be solved

Because we do not have any of our own to admire.

Did you hear why the area below the breasts is called a "waist"? Because there could be TWO more breasts there - what a "waste"!

Sorry but if that is the only thing that makes you go wild about a woman then you are in for many disappointments. I also enjoy the looks of a beautiful woman but why limit yourself to one body part?

There are two things going on here. One component is clearly Oedipal. The other is the fact that we in the West cover them - forbidden fruit, if you'll pardon me.

I like to think it's strong curiosity, we don't have them, and they are a part of a woman that is normally covered up. So when we get to see it, it sort of comes off as a treat to our minds. As does any part of a lady we don't normally get to see.
