go to golfonline.com there you can search for courses by city, price, public/private. It is really helpful

Cedar Ridge, about 5 minutes outside Sunnyvale.

Long list (10 pages) of golf courses in Sunnyvale I would think the municipal golf course would be the cheapest. Check this map site:
