I bought an Acer laptop a couple months ago and I'm having some problems with the optical drive. It won't write CD's anymore, and it's having a hard time reading DVD's. When I build a playlist and burn it, it'll get about 3/4 of the way through and then say an error occured and cancel the disc burn. When I try to import DVD's to my hard drive, it'll get a ways into the import and then say an error ocurred and cancel the import. What's wrong?

Matshita's Website should have it, or at least a link to it. I did a quick search and found a lot of people with the same problem.

If your laptop is new, it could be under warranty. Contact the place where you purchased it, and check on the warranty.

Suggest you go to the Acer web and down load your DVD driver.

If it still dosnt help you may have a hardware problem, in which case, you will have to take it to the support center and they (acer) will replace the hardware for you. Of cource, make sure your notebook is still under warranty.

Good Luck.
