Since you didn't work, you probably don't have to file. The only thing that *might* require you to file is if you had "untaxed income" or if you earned a lot of interest on your savings/investments.
As for your FAFSA status...
Not every FAFSA filer is a tax filer. If you look closely at the FAFSA questions, you will see that they are asking you IF you filed your taxes. There is an option that you can check that says "I did not file." This is a perfectly acceptable choice. Of course, even you check "did/do not file," you will still need to provide income information when the FAFSA asks for wages, taxes paid, untaxed income, etc. (If the numbers are $0, then simply write $0 -- but don't leave anything blank.)
Some answerer above me stated that in order to receive federal student aid, you must provide your school with copies of your tax return. This is incorrect. Many (but not all) schools will ask for "verification" of the information that you provided on the FAFSA. For people who filed taxes, this verification would include copies of their tax returns (the school will compare the numbers on each form, correct any errors, and resolve any discrepancies). For students who didn't file taxes, "verification" usually includes a statement indicating this as well as documentation of any untaxed income (social security, child support, etc.) To collect verification, many schools use something called a Verification Worksheet. You can view the Dependent Worksheet here: http://ifap.ed.gov/vgworksheets/attachments/0708depverwkshtFINAL1218906.pdf
I should tell you that, technically, when you file the FAFSA, you are supposed to include any "in-kind support" that you received (this number gets entered on Worksheet B). This includes the value of all the things your girlfriend paid for: housing, food, and tuition. I recognize that a lot of students skip this part and there isn't much I can do to verify it, but I do think you should be aware of the requirement.

Tiffany is wrong, you do not have to file taxes for the fafsa. I know because 1) I file the fafsa every year w/o problems and 2) there is even a question in the fafsa that asks if you filed or not. And if not, "will not file" is what you check.

If you have not worked at all during the year of 2006 than you don't file anything. If you did work somewhere even if it was just for awhile than you should have received a W-2 form from them in the mail. You take that to H&R Block, or Jackson Hewitt, what ever your local tax service is, and they will do it for you.

If you did not work, you do not have to file taxes.
When you fill out the FAFSA, you can mark that you were not required to file. However, you will have to list the money she gives you (not as income, as money received from others).
Also she cannot claim you on her taxes.

You only file if you work for a living.
Since you had no check to take money out of your not going to get a refund so you dont' have to file.Tell the student loan people you dont' work thusly no tax copies are available to them.

In order to get FAFSA assistance you must provide tax returns.
So if you are a legal resident and 18 or older you must file taxes every year even if you have no income.
Please don't take the advice of the answers above mine, they are not correct.

You would only fil if you work. Now how old are you? Are you married. because if you are, have kids, or over the age of 24 you are considered independent. And if you are married you can just put your spouses info. Did you work under the table???
