I am going to America on may 3rd,trouble is i have paid for this hoilday but did not know untill last month that if you have a conviction you must apply here for a visa,i have never been in trouble with the police before untill one druken night out 3 years ago,i got arrested & charged for hitting somebody.i have got an interview at the u.s embassy on the 16th of april but am still waiting for an access statement report from scotland yard which you need to take to the interview with you.but i am worried sick that it might not come in time there for i can not have the interview without it,has any body else been in this situation before?would be very grateful if you could tell me how long it all took to go through.i am more dissappointed because my seven year old daughter has being looking foward to this trip and would be very sad if we could not go i know it was my fault for being so stupied but people do make mistakes,do you think i should risk going without applying for a visa here.

I don't know about the interview here, I would be worried about the other end. If my experience with the Yankee immigration is anything to go by, as a law abiding citizen with no criminal or other convictions, then I would say that your holiday may be a disaster from the beginning. These people are like the Gestapo, no sense of humour and certainly not friendly.
