okay... i broke up with my ex to "move on with my life"! my ex's birthday is tomarrow! he asked me if would still go out with him and his family to dinner... he made it clear to me that we will not be alone at anytime (not that we know we both wouldn't mind) but i'm really tryin to get over him. he asked me to join them the night i broke up with him.... right after we both agreed to try the whole "friend" thing out! what do i do? should i go? does he really want me to spend him b-day with him after i just "broke his heart" or is he just puttin on a front infront of his family? (to make it look like we are still together)
What do ya think?

Mmmmm sounds it could be either way...
But if he made plans right when you guys broke up and you agreed in any kind of way (by not saying no you already agreed) or let that opportunity open he'll be counting on you to go.
My advice when it comes to situations like this is always the same, has been the best way to live my life I'll tell you that; so, Go! and be there you don't know anyways, it might help to give closure to any of you. If you decide not to go, you will ALWAYS wonder what would have happened if... and I hate that! the wondering...

In this instance, what do you want to do? Do you want to go? And to celebrate his birthday (as a friend would)? Or would you rather not celebrate his birthday and do whatever else you would be doing? Would it send the wrong message to his family? If he's doing it to "make it look like you are still together", then that is very inappropriate. Don't ask yourself what his motives are... just do what you think would make you happiest.

If you think that you would not mind giving another try work things, you should go. If you seriously wants to make a full stop to the affair you should not. Wihy washy is not going to help in anyway.

I think once you said what you had to, that is all that it should be. The guy has his family, he doesn't need you around unless if he wants to prove that you are still together. Nah just don't go.

He wants you back and wants to see if maybe there is still a chance. If you want to then yes go, but if not, then its best if you dont, but it doesnt hurt to wish happy birthday.
