Instead of measuring the amount of fruit you eight by the number of pieces, measure the weight of fruit you consume-nomatter what kind. One standard serving of fruit is 100g-be that of a grapes, apple, or mango. You are supposed to eat 2-5 serves of fruit daily, but i's ok to eat more, as long as you are aware of the calories and sugar.
Fruit should really only be eaten as a sweet/dessert food due to the sugar content. For example, it's better to eat 4 pieces of fruit a day, than 3 pieces of fruit and a chocolate bar, but if you do not need that extra piece of fruit, don't eat it. IF you feel peckish, try vegetable sticks and hommus, as well as nuts which contain protein.
If you can afford it, protein bars and shakes are also a good snack.
