To paraphrase, the ASPCA doesn’t buy menu foods explanation for the pet food contamination being caused by aminopterin. The symptoms are not consistent with aminopterin and the finding has not been corroborated by the FDA (or even a second lab)…

Interesting-thanx for the link
I read the ingredient lists of what I feed and would never have fed those products in the first place.

Just today on the noon new here in CT. A woman is sueing Menu Foods and Iams. She is seeking a hugh amount of money in the death of her cat and the illness on her other 2 cats still being cared for by her vets.
I think dog foods such as Iam's and others are doomed. I never feed my dogs those cheep foods but there are millions who do so I think the real story is yet to be published.

I don't think anyone has a clue what is in the food. I think it is a huge mistake, perhaps even a disgruntled employee. I think we are going to find a lot more in the weeks to come, and standards may be brought into the pet food industry. I also believe those High Price Brands that have been exposed in the recall websites for using the same ingredients in their food as the cheap ones are going to lose a lot of business. It's harder to be sued if you can't find the culprit, and lots of pet owners are calling their lawyers

I don't know what the hell is going on but I thought my dog was okay since I stopped feeding him can food in january and fed him dry dog food instead. However, he just suddenly became ill on tuesday night and died on Wednesday afternoon. After eating his last can in January, he vomited, gagged and had problems going to the bathroom. I took him to the vet and they said that he just had a fever and diarrhea and gave him some meds that DID NOT HELP. However, my other dog who hates can food and rarely eats dry food because he's picky is alive and well and doesn't show any symptoms at all.

I don't know what their explanation is but all I know is that my dog is now dead and when I complained about it, no one listened. I kept saying to the vet that after he ate this food, he hasn't been the same but they attributed it to something else despite the fact that he's been an active healthy dog.

All I know is I am not buying any of their dog foods for the rest of my dogs life or my cats at that. Completely irresponsible if you ask me. Who was supposed to be monitoring this stuff?
