what to do on a first date?

any ideas of what to do on a first date (in la or orange county)?

now that it is getting nice out how about walks, amusement parks, a drive, sight seeing, dinner, coffee shop, bowling, pool. anything but a movie. you can't really talk to anyone if you are in a movie. save the movie for last if the 2 of you hit it off. it's a nice ending to a good nite.

Do something that will be condusive with you guys talking and getting to know each other cuz usually you can tell if this is something you would like to pursue with this person after the first few dates (and if you are never going to call/see/or have anything to do with him/her ever again). There is the obvious dinner, movie (not good cuz can't talk), or going for coffee/drinks. I say go for dinner, it's the best to be able to talk and get to know this person, you have plenty of time in the future (if there will be one) to do more creative, original things together. I went hiking on a first date once and it was sorta awkward cuz we didn't really know each other and we only got to talk a little bit on breaks. Plus I was outta shape and he was going to fast but I didn't know him that well so I sorta felt uncomfortable telling him that he was going to fast cuz it seemed like a breeze for him and I didn't want him to get the impression that I was outta shape (esp. cuz I lied and said I go to the gym).

Talk about the weather...open up SLOWLY..don't give alot of information all at once and or too quickly....leave some things for the next date and do nothing physical..no kissing..hugging...sex..nothing...he will think more of you...wait and see if you two have something first...don't be loose
