Cigarettes

Cigarettes of course.
The government makes way more money off of fighting the "drug war" than just making pot legal.
It is alot safer than cigarettes and alcohol, but, they are easier to regulate and they can be taxed.
Pot is a "weed" and can grow anywhere, so the government would have a harder time keeping it regulated. And it's all about control.
Not to mention that it's all wrapped up in the FDA (Food & Drug Administration). And this agency alone makes so much money for the government by simply just keeping us sick.
And pot has a lot of actually really good properties to it. It can heal things. But, this would make it so that less people would have to be on legal drugs, and that is not cost efficient for our government.
Ever notice that it's more expensive to eat healthy than not. The system is set up this way to keep us consuming a diet that is not healthy. To keep us going back for the legal drugs.
If we went to a more natural way of curing things, and alleviating health problems, it would be too hard for the government to make money off of these things.
So that's why we get stuck with the system we have.
In the meantime, this does not mean that I am advocating that people should do things that are illegal, but, all the same, this is why we are in the biggest health care crisis this nation has ever seen.
It won't change until people see this for what it is and make the changes in government that will facilitate it.
Until then, all you can do is not smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol. As this just perpetuates it.
It's just like if you don't like the way a business in your home town does things. If everyone boycotts it, they don't make any money. They leave, quit, close down, whatever.
It's a business, just like anything else. If you don't like how it's being run, or the products they offer, you don't use them.
Just one opinion.
But, it's reality. Some people just don't want to admit it. They would rather keep their head in the sand and keep believing that their government would never do anything to hurt them. It's just the way it is.

depends how you take the marijuana. marijuana contains more tar when smoked - eating it is a "healthier" alternative.

marijuana is worse at the moment because it's illegal. people are known to get real sick from getting a batch of weed which has been laced with other chemicals. so you never really know what you get unless you grow it yourself. most cigarettes/tabacco on the other hand is factory made and quality controlled.

... they are both bad.

I think the manufacturing of tobacco is worse, at least marijuana has no processing, etc. It is completely natural. I agree with the alcohol also, I have children and IF I had to choose, I'd rather them smoke pot than drink! I think it should be legallized and alot of the drug problems would be solved!

Well i've been smoking for four years now (yes i know i'm only 16), but i dont care. I went through a ganja stage last year. (Tis illegal in Australia too) but it wasnt worth it. Gjandi is worst by far, cause i actually remember doing **** when i'm smoking ciggies, but if i get ripped enough from weed then i wake up somewhere different (one time in someone else's clothes).

So don't do drugs kids.

well cigarettes do cause cancer, but they're not mind altering, as is marijuana they don't cause hallucinations etc. alcohol is a drug which has become socially acceptable in many cultures over thousands of years, the ancient greeks and romans all drank red wine. i'm a cigarette smoker myself, but i have to say that marijuana is a disgusting habit and i hate the smell and what it does to people, but the results of alcohol abuse have got to be the worst, all those idiots drink driving YOU MAKE ME SICK! but yeah, im not a fan of drugs, but i do enjoy my occasional beer :)

I've never done either but I'd have to say marijuana! you said it, it's illegal, doesn't matter why it is and if it is actually worse, it's against the law, and by using it, people are breaking the law, and often lots of others in order to get it! You don't have to agree with the law, but you do have to obey it. Both are dangerous, so don't do either, but if you're gonna do one, choose the one that's legal
