Get a waterproof sunscreen. Apply it at least 20 minutes before entering the water or untill it is completely absorbed. any time you are out of the water try to add more on. Be consistant through the day and you should be fine:)

There are a lot of waterproof sunscreens. You'll just have to apply them more often than you normally would if you weren't swimming (so maybe before you get in the water, and then every 30 minutes or so while you're swimming?). You can also buy a swimsuit that will block UV rays, like the kind surfers use. There are also UV proof goggles and swimcaps. You just have to go to a sports store or a store that sells outdoor gear.
