When she does sit, gently pull her, and when she walks or stands up, give her a treat to show her that that's what u want her to do. Keep doing this and she'll get the hang of it.

Chihuahuas are scared of everything. You have to make him feel secure. Have his feet checked out by a Vet to be sure he doesn't have any problems with them.

Put a treat on a string at the end of a stick. Dangle the treat in front of him as you both walk. He will be going for the treat and forget he is walking after a time he will just like walking and forget the treat. Dogs are well taught by the reward system but you have to instill confidence in the dog that you are the master. Lay the dog on its side and hold it down until it does not struggle be gentle but firm. When the dog relinquishes its body to you and defers to your authority then you can get the dog to do your bidding.

Start where you are both comfortable. You are leading the way, the dog will follow. As far as the leash, any simple inexpensive one will do. Have it tight and high on her head. Here goes: Both of you start on the carpet. Make sure your posture is dominant /Confident (shoulder's back, head up). The leash should have just a little slack and your arms normal and comfortable at your sides. Now walk with head up with your dog on the leash. Cross the barrier to the hard surface with no hesitation. You can say to yourself it is no big deal, in your mind you have no barrier. Any hesistation from your dog, then you give a quick pull/jerk up on the leash to correct the behavior. You can also use your voice. Continue walking. Repeat and repeat. Be confident and this will work. Best of luck to you!

Obviously he just wants to have his way, (they do that, all dogs). You can go to a Dog/food Store and get a specific Leash, this one will prevent him to sit unless you permit it.

maybe he doesn't feel confortable with the hard surface because there is something wrong with his paws. I don't know. Or maybe you spoiled him to much and he will only walk on soft surfaces
