The Cabbage Soup diet does claim that, but I have also read it depletes the body of minerals if you eat it according to the "diet," because it passes through you so quickly. Depletion of minerals can cause organ failure, not to mention painful muscle cramps. If you google Cabbage Soup Diet you'll find loads of recipes for the soup, all are basically the same. I love the taste of the soup, it's great if you like veggie soup. One or two bowls wouldn't be harmful, but eating it for days on end could be.

I am not aware of any soup with that few calories. If it exists it probably tastes horrible or is full of artificial additives.
Celery, I know, has so few calories you supposedly burn them by chewing and digesting it.
To imagine a soup with that few calories is hard unless you just boiled celery and salt to make a soup.
One way to cut the calories on broth or stock for soup is to boil it, the put it in the fridge till it cools and any oils or fats in the soup congeal on the surface. You can then scrape it off and reheat the soup to eat.
Just remember, too few calories in your diet causes your body to hoard them... often a moderate intake of calories, and exercise that burns them, is healthier than trying to cut out calories.

You burn calories doing anything...even sleeping. There is no secret behind weight loss. You need to burn more then you consume and the best way to do this is change your diet to add whole grains, fruits and veggies and get at least 20 minutes of moderate exercise a day.
