My girlfriend was invited to a kids birthday party sunday at 5pm. Originally she told me it was on a Saturday and that I was expected to attend also. Now I find its on Sunday......There are 1000 other things I would rather do, need to do with my Sunday then this, granted I like spending time with her but this is a 1 yr old birthday party we are talking about...

Am I obligated or can I politely decline?

i would decline, i know what you mean, it's sunday for god's sake, id rather relax on a sunday even if it's doing nothing, rather than attending a 1 yr olds bday party. i would have to pass, i'm sure she'll understand, sundays are sacred!!!

Look, your girlfriend just wants to show off her kid. If she changed the date and you had planned to go on Sat., you're not under any obligation to attend on Sun. Yes, politely decline. Just tell her you can't make it Sunday. You don't even have to give her a reason, you have other plans. If she's a real close friend, ask if you can come by sometime Sat and visit for a little with her and the baby. If she's not that close, don't worry about it. Let this be a lesson to you about accepting invites for parties of children when you don't have any (unless they are family).

Don't feel bad about declining anything you don't really want to do. Godloveya.

i assume it relies upon on what you will call a "great bash." My sister and that i've got been the two allowed pizza and cake at chuck e cheese on each and every occasion we could have liked, now that we are older we are allowed to have a occasion besides the shown fact that it relies upon on how the funds are going that month in terms of ways great that's. as quickly as I grew to become like 14 i finished truly having events and purely have one or 2 friends over for cake or swimming--18 and 19 I purely invited my boyfriend over to have fun, my sister is sixteen and she or he had a slew of girls come over yet they simply ate cupcakes and watched video clips. whilst we've been youthful, certainly there grew to become into adequate time between March and July that we are able to possibly not have remembered that one toddler have been given to pass to chuck e cheese and the different didnt, yet in any different case i could be careful in line with how birthdays are seen on your loved ones. In my family contributors the birthday grew to become into continuously "your special day," and up till a definite age i could have had a confusing time understand-how why i did not get to do something relaxing whilst my sister did if i spotted. this is confusing to describe funds to a 5 300 and sixty 5 days old. yet they actually will possibly not even observe, it relies upon on your loved ones.

Just be like, "Hey (insert name here). I'm very busy and I really can't go to that party. If it was on Saturday, I could've made it. But I have things to do on Sunday. I'm so sorry." and then see what she says. She should understand.

If this is a family party and this is a very serious relationship, I would go. If it's not a family party, you can skip it even if she's a serious girlfriend. You can skip anything you want if it's not a serious relationship.

If it was on Saturday, yeah, but, wow, .....let me know how the party goes, ok?

Tell he you don't want to go, and see what she says. But if she really wants you to go, and you really like her, then I'd go.
