..if 'reasoning' through a thought or concept is ignored by you, the 'logic' in deductions you reach is biased.

..a couple fine examples of this characteristic are 'religious beliefs', and 'political views'....but of course, there are many others.

Turnip greens. If a child hates turnip greens you can explain that they are good for them, that the taste is not bitter after a few bites, that the flavor can even be changed with addition of sauces, that big boys and girls eat their greens, BUT you can not convince the child that turnip greens are good if the child has made up his/her mind that they look and taste yucky. Prejudice is the same way, logic just doesn't work because a decision about the object of the predjudice has already been made.

There is no solid basis for a prejudice. It is personal preference to dislike a group of people in total for whatever reason. It does not take any account of the individuals who comprise the group. And since we don't even like ALL the members of our own particular grouping, it is a narrow view of society which decreases our personal chances of enrichment. Society is too diverse to exclude an entire group of people and I suspect that anyone who clings to prejudice will eventually suffer for it.
