Panic attacks are the worst,....and though 90 is fast, it isn't the worst...I had to go to the hospital once when mine was up at 140....but turned out to be dehydrated...you need to drink lots of water, and the excercise is great...xanax works good...don't drink caffinated drinks, or eat candy or sweets or anything that will keep you awake...if you can do it without the pills, better for you...take care, God bless

This could be triggered by anything like a dream you were having that could have sub-consciously agitated you while sleeping and it could have just been another panic attack. Did the doctor tell you to stop taking your medication??? If not you need to continue on with it. I have panic attacks and I take a 0.5 mg xanax every night before bed. I sleep well and feel great in the morning. Your pulse is not to bad. Mine is 85 per minute so don't freak to bad. Also you may want to let your doctor know this happened. He may want to do and ECG or something just to check your heart. Keep doing what you are doing and keep your stress level to a minimum if possible, but definately go see your doctor!!!!

I had something similar to this about 4 years ago. I was starting to get heart racing (much faster than 90!), and could not figure out what it was. I thought it was panic too, but it would come out of nowhere, including at night while I was sleeping. I changed my diet and eliminated sugar and caffeine without any change. I finally ended up having an ECHO and found I had mitral valve prolapse which can cause the heart to palpitate fast. Mind you, I'm mid-40's and never had a symptom in my life! I'm not saying you have this, but sometimes the palpitations are not related to anxiety or panic - but something else making the heart race. Even starting or stopping meds might trigger it. Or caffeine, chocolate. If you continue to have symptoms and can't get it to go away, consult your doctor.

The best person to explain this to you would be your doctor, who you should see as soon as possible. It sounds like you understand some of what is going on, but if you had to take an Ativan to calm yourself, you need to be checked out by a doctor. Even though you are taking care of yourself, there are some anxiety disorders that you can not prevent but can be controlled with medication.

Wow, this isn't a simple life. Well, I would suggest to take some vitamins to lessen the effects of the panic attacks, however, these should be taken earlier in the day. I would find out who is directly opposed to you and your forward advancement, otherwise known as suppression. This must be dealt with in a smooth way.

I'm providing links to solutions that work.

You stopped your medication? That wasn't smart.

It's part of your disease. When the medications are working, your mind begins to tell you you don't need medications. It's the medications that are making you feel better. Now you've been off them for 2 weeks and all your symptoms are returning.

Call your doctor and explain you stopped your meds 2 weeks ago and he/she will put you back on at a lower dosage.
